I brought a psp about a year back and have probably used it a total of less than 10hours easy, lol. I thought about modding it then and again 6 months ago, and can never be bothered to do so. I finally decided to do it, and this week i brought a datel pandora tool and have an 8gb memory stick on the way so i can trick it out. I basically trying to instill some interest in it.

Ive done a bit of reading on the topic and know what i need to do (to an extent) and what some of the better firmware s are and what i can do when i finally install custom firmware on it. N64 here i come!!

Just seeing if anyone around here has done this before?

Engadget: R2D2 projector, webcam and lightsabre Skype phone Review

This could be reaching out to our geek audience a bit too much, but the combo media dock-cum-projector housed in the Nikko Electronics R2D2's guts has to get at least a look. Besides the fact that it's the iconic little droid, the projector's remote is housed in a Millennium Falcon Hyperdrive, adding to the geek cred. Granted, the $2,500 price tag could be a bit prohibitive for your 12-year-old Star Wars obsessed nephew, but maybe he could give the wireless R2D2 webcam, or the Anakin Skywalker Lightsabre Skype phone a go. Regardless, check out the gallery below and the video after the break (or get your download on, if that's your thing).

These little babies could soon be even more portable. A patent recently found by MacRumors reveals that Apple is trying to obtain a patent for a technology which could provide solar energy for their iPhones.

The solar panel would absorb ambient light that passes through the LCD screen of the device. This could eliminate any additional footprint typically required by the solar panels. If successfully implemented, Apple's iPhone, iPod and laptops, could require no outward changes in design to add solar power."

I think this looks amazing, imagine only having to plug our phone to charge in rainy weather.. All you would have to do is leave it on your window sill when not using it..

I wonder how it would cope with heat issues deriving from leaving your phone setting in the sun? There would have to be corrosion issues with plastics, because people would be leaving it out in the sun for longer periods.

I got a USB to IDE/SATA adapter cable the other week to connect to some old HDD's i had lying around and at the time i was using a pc.. Windows xp didn't need any drivers because its awesome, but now i have a mac and it requires drivers to use it. The pack came with drivers for mac, but to my surprise they are out of date because they were designed for the 'classic environment'. Is there anyway i can get a new driver or get around that fact that this driver is out of date?

Its called the "Gene USB IDE driver" if it helps at all.

Has anyone been brave enough to install this yet? With my new setup i figured Id be ok but after installing it my onboard sound (no new card yet) refused to be recognised. I scoured some forums and a lot of people have been having problems with it, particularly a constant rebooting problem, thankfully I didnt suffer from that.

I didnt hang around to see what other problems it had caused me, as I didnt have sound (and no amount of trying other drivers helped) I had to uninstall the pack, but at least it gives you the option to uninstall it.

Theres no harm in trying it really but be aware it may cause more problems than fixes.

BTW My new setup which I built myself is:

My old ATX tower...still good for it :)

ECS 6100SM-M2 Motherboard

AMD AThlon 5000+ Dual Core AM2 2.36Ghz

1 GB DDR2 PC5300

GeForce 8600 GT 1GB

Not bad for just over £200 ($390) in the Uk thats a reasonable price for a mid-range system, I say mid range coz its not THE best CPU or GFX but good for price.

The onboard 6.1 sound is amazing, not in a hurry to get a new card yet but I do believe a hardware card takes pressure off the CPU so i will get one eventually. Any recommends?

Also as Ive only 2 slots for RAM I guess a 2GB stick will bump me up to 3 then get another 2 to take me to 4 and sell the 1GB.

It plays Crysis with ease as medium to high settings and it plays Oblivion on everything up full which is all I was initially interested in.

As for Crysis, I was so looking forward to that game but even on easy mode the AI players are just so frickin hard to go down, I pumped a full round (and more) into most of them and very rarely they go down, head shots or not, and these guys were just grunts early on in the game, no nanosuits or anything. But once I got to the level where some AI had nanosuits i was screaming for a god mode cheat, but I hate those.

I can access the internet on both parts fine, and can connect to other pc's to a limited extent.. ie i can access it through smb://(name of location).

But they will not communicate freely. I wish to fix the network settings so i may explor the entire network. And all this leads to allowing me to print from my mac to a windows printer.

ive tried anything i can find on the net and still have no luck.. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great. If you would like more info on my problem, ie type of router how ive set up my dns and watnot just let me know.
