  1. I don't know what's current, but things that are currently on TV or on between season hiatus here are: The 4400 (which I voted for) BSG (close second) Dr. Who

    iPhone

Interesting. Looks like Cisco is pretty angry. http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/wireStory?id=2786473
  3. I have a 7600GT and i've been running fairly instensive games on it all summer, no problems. After reading this, however, I will keep a close eye on it. Will have to hope nothing happens when my little brother is uing the PC, as he won't notice it and it'll probably get ruined. Damn. So paranoid now :P
  4. Oh come on, the only reason anyone likes T'Pol is because they think she's attractive, everyone knows it, not everyone admits it. Trek needs more strong female characters and less female characters chosen just for their "bodily attributes".
  5. Pixies Reunion Tour Monty Python: Holy Grail
  6. Yeah, I really enjoy having a server that's mostly people I know. I would be willing to help out with stuff if needed, as I feel like a freeloader haha ;) To save him the trouble, it's a zero. :P
  7. Your favorite game of 2006? Oblivion/Dawn Of War: Dark Crusade Your least favorite game of 2006? I don't play many games, and I make sure I'm going to enjoy the ones I do play. So none. The most over-rated game of 2006? Don't really keep up with the 'scene' any more, so I don't really know. The most Under-rated game of 2006? See above. The one thing in the gaming world that surprised you the most in 2006? The Wii... I didn't know it would have a motion sensor >_> Which would you want to see under your tree? Xbox 360, Wii or the Ps3? Wii. What games are you excited about for PC/Wii/360/PS3 in the upcoming year? The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy - Wii
  8. I want a Wii! At the moment I own a PS2 (for GTA and Guitar Hero) and 2 (soon 3) computers.
  9. How did they manage to keep the powder from ruining the 'cold beers' ? (mine is a powder type and I haven't seen that mythbuster ep). They used one of the ones that shoots a cloud of CO2, not sure if that's what you mean, but the beers were sealed at that point.
  10. You dare mock a dire extinguisher? If you watched mythbusters you'd know that those things can cool a 6-pack to optimal temperature in around 3 minutes. Best for me was the large pile of money I got, going to spend it on a laptop. A few other good things: glasses cleaning stuff & dr. who model making kit. Worst? A t-shirt that's too big for me that isn't awesome enough to justify being to big.
  11. Arktis, the problem you have with the story is extremely valid, but as you said: If you take it as real: The kid's just realized that he's lost his Steam account because he was being an idiot. Because he's an idiot, he's trying to get the account back by using pity. It's pretty much a given that eventually, if you study anything hard enough you can come up with some problems with it. I read it once and laughed. It's funny.
  12. If the creators keep with thier trend of besting themselves it should be good, personally I think that Atlantis > SG-1 > Movie, and if they managed to make it different and better than all those it would be awesome, they have a good record, they should try and keep it :)

    Eve Online scam

It sounds ridiculous, but in EVE it's hard to have fun. I'm currently on my second hiatus, and I might be going back soon, but only under very certain circumstances. During my first time playing (early this year) I was making around 1-2 million ISK after an all-night mining operation with friends. That's nothing in EVE. It took me 5 nights staying up till 3 am to earn enough money to buy and insure a Tier 1 cruiser. During my second time playing (just recently) I was making 10 million ISK every day, if i'd dedicated more time it would've been 20 million a day. At that rate it would take me 10 days to save up for a battleship. However, I had much more fun in my first time playing than I did in my illustrious second time. EVE is a game that can easily suck you into making money and feeding it's amazing capitalist market system. You can get so caught up in running level 3 missions constantly so that you can afford your new battleship that will allow you to run level 4 missions constantly so that you can afford a faction battleship that will be able to do the level 4 missions quicker and hence make you more money that you can lose sight of what it is that makes the game fun. To me what made the game fun was being in a 10-man corporation with a few real-life friends and staying up all night talking interesting people in our alliance on Teamspeak while mining in low security and being on PvP alert. Even though at that rate I was never going to get a battleship it didn't matter, because it was fun doing it. I think that the amount of money you make in EVE is inversely proportional to the amount of fun you have, and I think that's kind of what that guy was trying to say. Incidentally the guy who stole the 700 billion eventually left or gave up the money, I can't remember.
  14. As far as what I know (from what my creepy optometrist has told me) staring at a computer screen/tv screen doesn't actually *ruin* your eyes per-se, but it increases the fatigue level, which pretty much rises and rises until you take a break, the longer you look at the screen for, the worse your eyes get, but it's temporary. If you spend the entire day staring at a computer screen your eyes will be constantly fatigued and so it will seem as if your eye-sight has degraded permanently. I'd be willing to bet that staring at a screen all day every day would eventually give you astigmatism or something, but when I went to the optometrist he shot down my parents argument of "You play to much computer" by telling me the problem with my eyes is hereditary.
  15. There used to be a time when I prefered staying in and playing video games rather than going out etc. but since I've gained a social life and started going out with friends a lot more when I do get the chance to spend an entire day just sitting around playing video games it gets kinda boring tbh. 2-3 hours is fine, but after that it gets repeptive (unless you're playing with friends).

    Eve Online scam

That one's pretty good and I like the fact that it's written by the guy who did it :P There was a crazy-go-nuts scam a little while ago that shows you just how much the EVE economy has grown since that guy was playing: http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/08/23/1918246&from=rss
  17. Dr. Carson Beckett, dodgy, but it was either him or an episode, couldn't think of anything else.
  18. Personally I think it should've ended when Jack left. The show moved from being mainly about Daniel (very early on) to about Jack, and when he left it semmed gutted to me. Time to run.
  19. that's awesome ;D reminded me of this: http://geekologie.com/2006/11/audi_s4_gets_taped.php

    Who Are You?

I'm on the first page, but I haven't been here in a long long time. Hi again.

    Are you a pirate?

I'm giving it up this year, the patches seem to be working so far :P... landlubbers.
  23. Because it's filmed in Canada and Sci-Fi Channel isn't all powerful.
  24. Riker, but that's probably my natural bias... I hate that William Shatner :p KHAAAAN!
