  1. That's what I said in my post in the 2x10 thread. If you think about it, if Cain was a cylon, why would she have allowed the severe abuse of Six? However, there's also the question of how the Pegasus survived. Adama and the President seemed somewhat skeptical that the Admiral was telling the truth about their 'escape'. Maybe they made a deal with the Cylons, if they could find the rest of the fleet, then they get to live ( “longer†) or something like that.
  2. “the Mark II's have their systems not networked right? So why make something like the Mark VII?†That’s a good question, BSG seems to emulate our current military to some extent, with that having been said, I think it’s logical to assume that they were following some kind of “network-centric†warfare idea. This has many benefits, including but not limited too.. Total battle field awareness, if every vehicle, and every soldier is linked via some kind of information network, you can get data on enemy strength, number, and tactic from multiple angles, that information can even be relayed to .. air superiority craft for example, any jets flying sorties at that time, could redirect to offer air support, or, armor could roll in and suppress the enemy, or you could upload that information to another squad and team up almost instantaneously. How would network-centric warfare benefit aero-space fighters in BSG? I believe, pretty much the same way they wish to handle fighters today, one tactic I know of, is to pain a target, and have your wingman switch off his radar, using an information feed from your systems instead. While the enemy thinks he simply has one hostile, quite some distance away, the wingman is actually sneaking up onto him, nearly undetectable. So, in summary, I think the legislators, and even some of (if not most of) the military felt that either their technology wasn’t vulnerable, or superior to Cylon attack. Or, that they felt the Cylons were no longer a threat. I think that’s actually pretty sound reasoning, looking from their prospective, the last thing they knew about the Cylons, was, what they designed .. or observed in the last war. They probably designed their “defense mainframe†to include lots of security measures, uber encryption ect. ect. don’t forget number 6 was actually allowed into the mainframe, with unlimited access, that’s probably what made the Colonials vulnerable (Not to say Cylons wouldn’t have figured out a way, but, Cylons are most likely all about efficiency) Alternately, They felt the Cylon threat was over, and geared their military towards killing each other once again ^^, “Galactica's been hit dead on by a nuke before, with little to no consequence. Where's the EMP†In real world fighter vehicles, including but not limited to ships and fighter aircraft, they’re shielded against EMP’s, I think Allied forces use some kind of grounding system coupled with some kind of electronics “cageâ€ÂÂ, the Russians just used vacuum tubes :3, I think it’s reasonable to believe that Battle star’s and fighters would have some kind of shielding. (They are even more technologically advanced then we are, yet seem to share the same technology tree to an extent, kinetic energy weapons, thermonuclear device.)
  3. I got X3 reunion. In all honesty, it’s because I couldn’t get the starforce driver thing to work, and I think it screwed up my DVDburner, or, perhaps it’s SP2 that’s not allowing it to recognize properly .. anyway, long story short, it’s a good game once you patch it .. and, at least in my case, disable some buttons on my joystick so the keyboard works properly (I have several always on sliders, the Saitek X45)
  4. Once, when my two “friends†started arguing, about .. not star trek, but Star-Wars and theoretical physics. Not that -I’m- an expert, but, it’s safe to say I knew more then they did on the topic. Why was it embarrassing? .. well, sitting in a crowed cafeteria, filled with people looking for a reason to hate ya anyway (No, I wasn’t really popular in school : ) .. and having two (yes, very stereotypical “nerds†) plastered to either side of you arguing over the top of your head, and practically foaming at the mouth, really doesn’t too much for your “street credâ€ÂÂ. Anyway, needless to say, they’re both wrong, I count events that happen in books as “fan fiction†unless some how officaily credited by the maker of the universe they’re placed in. In other words, if I wrote a Star-fox book, nintendo’d have to give it a gold stamp before it would become anything I’d ever want to base an argument on : ) Granted, it could have been about anything, still .. the words “star wars†and “jock†rarely, ever, go well together.
  5. Nelix could/would bite >: )
  6. Only if they conquered them with their own :D?
  7. ^I don’t really know what that thing is ... but it’s amusing 6 :3 Lol, I have no idea who’ll like mine, but in all fairness, it’s a mega-man sprite edit, so it didn’t really take an uber amount of skill or anything.

I read that pages and actually this “After Thirteen Heavens of Decreasing Choice, and Nine Hells of Increasing Doom, the Tree of Life shall blossom with a fruit never before known in the creation, and that fruit shall be the New Spirit of Men.†does not mean the destruction of the world just the birth of a new age a better age something pure than everything else also it means the death of modern kapitalisam (I don't really know how to spell it right :p ) but the death and destruction of bad thing is good... though everything has always more sides of thruth..it depends how each person looks at it... As much as I’d love a truly democratic society, where people worked to further themselves, and contribute back to the system that was so kind to them, do you really think it would work? ... if were was some resource allowance, or work credit based system, wouldn’t that be exactly the same as today?
  9. “Has features NO American car has, tiltable rear headrests, child safety window buttons, pinch protection, middle rear seat chest strap seatbelt. All these safety features came standard 6 yrs ago, and the US hasn't even bothered to implement half of them because it's "too expensive for us". I can only see one really decent feature “pinch protection†which could be easily implemented, though side impact airbags seem like the smarter option anyway, the rest are frills that are indeed unimportant, and, I’m pretty sure there’s plenty of domestic vehicles that feature lockout controls for the back, and even passenger side windows, I’ve ridden in a 2000 ford that had these things. Though the best defense against stupidity is disciplining your children. I’ve yet to configure my dream car, but it starts with a 67 Camaro :3
  10. What ever slight edge consoles can gain with being specifically designed to cope with what ever fancy rendering options they want (Ie, special instruction sets, or ultra fast ram ect. ect.) they still lose to moore’s law, the PC continues to march ahead with baby steps and giant leaps. Except for maybe arcade machines, but, and this is a big one .. who wants to spend 2000+ on a machine, to play one .. or a few games :D, why not just buy a PC lol. Plus, with the sophistication of modern games, consoles just can’t cut it anymore .. so why try? Why not make -the best- consol games one can make? Maybe a 2d side scroller wouldn’t cut it for the PC, but I think they would very well on a consol, the control format is perfect for it. Some of the most frustrating games I’ve ever played have been 3d FPS’s on a consol. Even Metroid Prime (at least I thought it had exilent execution) would have been much funner with a mouse and keyboard. I can’t imagine trying to play BF2 and BF2:SF with a joy-pad.
  11. I love the SNES :3 What I don’t get is, the PC can handle every consol to date, that I know of .. and well too, even the handhelds, though of course those aren’t portable .. but it can play their games. .. Why are there not more Consol to PC ports ... even if you’re using a special process that takes too much CPU time to emulate, one can always include a PCI card of some kind :3 I think Xbox/PS2 developers would get more money out of me if they did. I wouldn’t buy a PS2 for sly-cooper, Armored core, and a few others, but I would buy those games if they were cross platform.
  12. Mostly Conservative with out religious views, and of course .. I’ll subscribe to both saving the planet -and- my second amendment rights :3
  13. The federation has transporters, they could probably just set up a sort of transporter network, sucking up raiders, cylons – humans, cylons – cylons, other ships and depositing them directly into a sun, gas giant (with an uber gravitational field) or even a back hole :3 ... either that or begin transporting and just empty out the buffers. The federation has shields / deflectors. If they’re able to deflect small rocks up to pretty decent sized chunks, while traveling towards them at high sub light/warp speeds, then I think they can deflect bullets, phasers could probably target the nuclear warheads and disable/destroy them. The federation has a number of allies, some of which may have in their past, or even currently fight the same way they do in BSG, with a mixture of fighters and capital ships, they would no doubt help the federation look back in history to come up with some uber fighters. The cylons can however adapt, and they have immense numbers.
  14. The character that is Starbuck seems to be unrealistically unruly, Yes, in the real world type A aggressive personalities make the best pilots, for the longest .. however, they still have a fierce sense of responsibility, duty, and professionalism, other wise the Air force, Marines, Navy, and of course Army wouldn’t let them fly. I would think that, with even fewer resources available, Battlestar Galactica’s command staff would be even less tolerant of “screw-ups†but that’s just me. As for the character? I like her .. okay, but a lot of her dialog seems cheesy, and almost forced.
  15. I can’t say that I like him, simply because he seemed so out of touch with the real world .. then again, in the universe of Star Trek, lots of characters seem appalled at issues we deal with everyday. I suppose that’s fits in with the universe, he still has that “deer caught in headlights†way about him though. .. At least Luke seemed to have friends his own age : )
  16. Seven of nine, what can I say, I like em big .. and slightly cybernetic >.> .. I’d have to say “Sil/Eve†from the movie Species (1/2), is actually probably one of the most attractive “scary aliens†I’ve ever seen. Just thought I’d throw that in :3
  17. My vote, Red Dwarf :D! .. hehe no really though. If I had to make a choice, I’d pick Star Wars, but it’s really more of a %51-%49 kind of thing, Star trek has many, many episodes, and in a way it chronicles the generation gap pretty well, however .. Voyager, and DS9 kind of let the series down (DS9 More then Voyager .. But Voyager got kind of stale/far fetched to me.) while Enterprise is more like TOS, it’s lacking in a few elements, it’s trying to take it’s self a little too seriously in my opinion. And there are the Star Trek movies, I pretty much only enjoyed the even numbered ones .. I know that’s a little harsh but it’s true, it seemed like all the odds just didn’t have much appeal to me. I know they have to stretch to keep the series “Fresh†but I liked it better when it was an hour to tell a story then move on, like in TNG/TOS. Star Wars lacks realism.. I mean, yeah it obviously lacks realism, but the first... or second trilogy depending on how you want to look at it .. .. Okay, the old Star Wars I liked because they skip all the deep stuff and simply try to tell a story, about a boy and his father ... :3 The new Star Wars, really .. doesn’t appeal to me. It’s too hip and “newâ€ÂÂ. It’s like it’s saying “Look I can be Star Wars too!†.. “I have More explosions, More Graphics, More Comedy, More light sabers .. MORE YODA, I’m so Star Wars!†All in all I think I like the technology set just a bit better, Huge lumbering capital ships squaring off while nibble fighters take the battle in close, that’s cool to me :3 .. Which also explains my like of Battle Star Galactica, and Wing Commander.. Not to mention Star Fox (For the SNES ) :3 All in all, I like em both about the same, but I grew up on Star Wars .. Now I’m sure I’ll probably get a Blaster bolt for this one .. unless, some one puts a Wrath of Kahn maggot in my helmet first :stare:
