Well , I thought I had discussed running the next game myself with TFMF already. Apparently , both him and Megalith thought different... Have a nice game , cyas around...

Yup , and THANK YOU to GorunNova - his sacrifice at a crucial point in the game was what made a Wolf Win possible. Thanks for "taking one for the Pack" ;D

Well , what can I say , except.....

This kinda forces my hand - I better vote now or "someone" could grab a quick win... After the last two rounds I now have no clear idea of who the wolf is and I'm pretty sure we're down to one wolf left now - or we would have seen a block vote mins after the voting opened , meaning the Wolves couldn't have lost - and since that didn't happen I'm inclined to think that there's only one left. (and the fact I'm still pretty sure that GournNova was a wolf..) Well , by this stage we've all got some suspicion on us : Myself - for the whole GournNova thing , and the fact I'm still alive this turn.. Neomaster - for the S0V13T thing and when S0V13T wasn't around he just followed the votes - we haven't seen Neomaster's true colours (yet) Gathererhade - For delaying until the last hour of voting last time (waiting to see if you could save GorunNova ?), and the recent posts where he seems to be deliberately drawing attention to himself... Bone2097 - The most quiet of all the players for the entire game and who votes for me even though he gives no good reason.... OK , those things covered I make my choice based on this comment : Despite me covering that very subject in some detail before hand - Bones2097 , don't you READ any of the posts ? OR are you looking to try and "railroad" me ? I notice this time around Bones you got to voting *real fast* in comparison to usual and gave no reason for your vote - that to me makes you the "most suspicious" out of our little shortlist. I vote for Bones2097

Yeah , a couple actually :P First - we can't even make peace with OURSELVES let alone an alien race ! Second - Any alien race with the tech to actually travel to our little rock - there would be nothing we could do to actually stop them from taking whatever they wanted anyways... Third - Until we sort our defences out - we'd be nothing but prey/food/slaves for any one of a million "nasty" races that may be out there - as was said in the film Contact - "Why do you scientists always ASSUME aliens will be friendly ?" I used to do quite a bit of SETI back in the day (my records may still be in the DB somewhere) - but after looking at those questions I posted , came to the conclusion that we had "more pressing" issues here at home before we started our Mission to Boldly Go..... I chose "Other" - although it may be included in "Regeneration" I'd prefer what I would call "Longevity" - namely a prolonged lifespan while (preferrably) keeping a youthful body. (not quite the same as "Immortality" , which implies god like indestructibility - I'd prefer to keep the option open that if ever I'd had enough I could still chew on a grenade if needed ;) ) Taking the X-Men equivalent - Wolverine - not even he knows himself how old he is - perhaps centuries ? That way I wouldn't need to travel to the future - I'd just wait for it to come to me. As for "funds" - well OK could take some time - but I reckon after a century or two (or three or four) of filling lotto tickets I'd get there in the end :)

Well I thought that The THING would in fact qualify as "a space faring race" rather than as a "beastie" , since in the story it was trying to construct a ship to escape earth - proof that it was an intelligent being rather than just a "virus" or sum such. But if that don't qualify , then I revert back to the Predator - any race that dumps it's teenagers in a hole to fight ALIENS as a form of "O level" qualification has got some serious cahoonas ;)

The PREDATOR - even without the funky shoulder mounted cannon and stealth technology. They could still kick Arnie's ass around the jungle with brute force and blades.... Could also argue the various Androids around - Like Data , Rommie , BSG Centurions or even the Terminator - yes they are a product of Technology but all exist in their own right and don't need to "pick up" extra tech to augment their own outstanding abilities.... Ooooooo , just thought of a really , really nasty one : John Carpenter's , The THING - just one molecule loose in the general populace and we're ALL done for...

Well , what can I say - This (to me) was the most likely outcome from the previous comments during the last set of voting. Bearing in mind mine and Higlander72's quite strong accusation of GorunNova , it created a situation where one of us was almost certain to get eaten next. About the kill itself : If GorunNova IS a wolf - perhaps he's getting desperate and figures he's got not much to loose at this point and chose to take out one of his biggest "enemies". OR If GorunNova is NOT a wolf - whoever is/are the Wolf(s) saw this as a golden opportunity to try and FRAME GorunNova and in the process get "2 free kills" (i.e. one kill and one false eviction) into the bargain.... OR Something completely different...(I have wild and un-sustainable ideas but nothing more) I don't think this kill in itself proves *anything* one way or another. As for my vote this time around - bearing in mind my votes so far have been late and ultimately useless , I'm gonna make my vote NOW. This recent kill aside , I still feel the comments made by GorunNova after he was accused by HighLander72 last time are still the "best" evidence I have seen of *anyone* being a Wolf. HighLander72's initial accusations were at best flimsy and full of holes , but for some reason , GorunNova's reply (to me) looked like someone who panicked and started wildly looking for excuses/someone else to blame. He made no effort to pull apart HighLander72's accusation (which I think could have been done quite easily) and instead relied on some (vague at best) distraction tactics to try and blame TetsuoShima for what came across to myself as a fabricated reason with even less grounds for it than HighLander72's one. Now , this line of thinking solely relies upon my own INTERPRETATION of what was written - and while is not conclusive in itself , I think it is *STILL* the most suspicious thing I have seen in this game to date. I ask all of you to go back a couple of pages and read through those posts again , form your own opinions. Then , hopefully , you will see for yourselves.... I VOTE FOR GorunNova. [MM]

I *thought* I was pretty clear in that statement :P But for those who need walking through it with someone to hold their hand : So far the "vote days" have been in the week - that is when I have to work. Unlike some here (damn students!) I cannot vote (or make comments) while at work - Until last week I couldn't even access Nite's Site because the hardware firewalls where I work blocked it. As it turns out I recently found a hole in them which does indeed let me through - enough for a quick read before I have to log off before someone sees me (work is *very* strict about these things). So , since I knew I wouldn't be around - I have (previously) made an initial post at the start of voting stating my line of thinking at that point with the added comment that I'm "open to ideas" from others. Then once I get back from work - I sit down , read through what has gone on since I have been away and make a final decision at that point. Now - providing I'm still around - This time the voting will start again on a Weekend - this means I can be around to participate more. Having said that , this time instead of me not really knowing who I suspect (and hence wanting to see what's said) I do now have someone in mind ! The late voting does NOT benefit me - Take for example this last vote - by the time I was around to vote the decision was already a foregone conclusion (not that I realised this at the time - or I would have said so..) - no matter how I voted , S0V13T , was gonna be the one leaving. (because of the rule about tie break votes and the last vote being discounted) In fact thinking about it - nor did it benefit me in the first vote either ! By then, Tablet was the foregone conclusion ! So , as it turns out , so far this game , NONE of my votes have meant anything or changed anything ! (Hmm , I hadn't realised this until just now) By all means , go back through the thread and read for yourself - I think you'll see that every thing I've said here is correct.... Now moving on : Yup , it's certainly true we have ended up voting the same way twice now - but we are not the only ones - S0V13T and Neomaster voted for each other both times as well - I can't deny that on the surface that looks suspicious - I gave my reasons for how I voted both times , I stand by them for better or worse. It's up to you guys to judge what you think of that.... As for who's next , yeah , I got a pretty good idea I think (it'll be one of two ppl I reckon). I say that not because I'm 100% certain who the wolf(s) is/are but more because of the situation that developed last voting round - It's made for a circumstance that any Wolf couldn't pass up (I believe). Then again , maybe it'll be someone completely different - it wouldn't be the first time this game has gone off in a totally unexpected direction.... [MM]

AH ! So this means I did NOT get the casting vote then ? Bummer! Well , S0V13T was my original choice anyways... I totally stand by what I posted earlier , but looks like GorunNova gets another chance to convince us he's not a Wolf. (and it had better be DAMNED good if you ask me!) Looks like me and Highlander72 better engage those handy phasing/cloaking devices Colonel Carter gave us earlier. I think we're gonna need them ::) [MM]

Okies - I'm now back from work (yes , WORK , so stop any bitching about me not posting right now :p ) and OH BOY the game is definitely afoot now :o A lot has happened in the last 24 Hours (Hmm , perhaps they should make a show about that.... :p ) I've been carefully sifting through the various posts , claims and counter claims. As it stands it looks like I have the casting vote this time around (that is , if no-one else changes their vote) and hence I feel obligated to explain my decision as best I can. THAT SAID : I *could* go on for pages about all my various ideas and suspicions but I'll try and keep it as short as I can. For me it boils down to the discussion (argument) between GorunNova and Highlander72. It started with Highlander72 accusing GorunNova. What I found interesting about that was that Highlander72 seemed to have already chosen who (out of his own shortlist) to vote for and then "constructed" an argument around his chosen victim. Thing was , his argument had several holes in it and one blatant *GUESS*.(that Tablet was NOT a wolf - What if he WAS a wolf I ask?) Then came the turn for GorunNova to reply to the accusation - and this for me was the CLINCHER ! Basically , GorunNova PANICKED! - he did NOT address the holes in Highlander's "logic" , but instead went all excited and behaved "randomly" - even to the point of wildly accusing TetsuoShima out of the blue. (for an apparently made up reason on the spot!) Highlander saw this weak response and turned the pressure up with a full on - You ARE a Wolf accusation (instead of the previous "Prime Suspect" status). At this point GorunNova pretty much "lost it" , changes his vote and starts babbling nonsense ! ********** I could go on but I'll stop there , I think I have explained where this leads enough now **************** My conclusion : MAN! If ever there was an example of "Looking Guilty as HELL and doing NOTHING to make anyone think otherwise" , then this would be it! (and) Despite S0V13T and Neomaster *STILL* doing their double act (and looking extremely suspicious about it too!) I am going to vote for GorunNova to get kicked out. I simply could NOT sit by and let this pass - it was simply TOO much of a give away! [MM] P.S. Nice one there HighLander72 - I'd say you nailed this one spot on ! :)

There's something that hasn't been mentioned here (until now)... When Roslyn came back into Office after New Caprica and after those dodgy "Death Squads" were in action : She issued a pardon for "ALL HUMANS" involved with the cylons on New Caprica - by rights Baltar should be covered in that statement too... As for the treason charge on the original event with the Defence Mainframe - that really couldn't be proved in any "fair" court - after all , the only "evidence" to that is Roslyn's vague memory of seeing Baltar with "a blonde haired woman" , not exactly damming evidence (and what he said while under the influence of those drugs would be highly suspicious I think..)

Now we have highlighted the "making too many posts" and "making too few posts" line of thinking - and even making an "eviction" based on it prolly makes those lines of thinking less valid now. Everyone will be "mindful" of how much they are / are not posting (except maybe S0V13T who don't seem to care). As TetsuoShima said, we gotta start thinking of other approaches. Perhaps there's a connection in who's getting eaten (with only 2 kills so far any guess there is gonna be a bit vague - but shouldn't be automatically given up on...) ? I did notice that Megalith (who hasn't said much until recently) posted : "The tendency if not a random selection and being the first game would be for the wolves and seer to be a Mod here imo. I say we get all the mods remaining in the game and see if they float on water if they do then they must be made of wood and we can burn them." ...and then he got eaten ! Was there something to what he said ? Did he touch upon a nerve and got jumped on because of it ? ..and MORE importantly , will I now face the fangs having mentioned it myself ? Anyone got any other ideas ? And , yeah , this Neomaster / S0V13T double act - two wolves working together ? Blaming each other when the vote was pretty safely going Tablets way - it's certainly a valid tactic for two wolves looking out for each other to make it "look" like they are fighting (read: Not working as a team...). As I said before , I'll keep looking here for any ideas that would swing my vote. But as of this moment I'm considering both S0V13T and Neomaster - Probably S0V13T - because , well , just because it's S0V13T ! ;D I'll finalise my vote after work tomorrow , once I had a chance to read up on any new developments..... Hmm , Yeah , this early on we've got nothing much to go on. There's much stock being placed into how much someone has posted - and I agree that both lines of thinking there apply. ATM we haven't any chance of spotting any "pattern" to the killings - so that's out of the window (for now) And since about only half the players are making regular posts (myself being one of the quieter ones) there's not much to go on to "give anyone away". My own line of thinking was that I'd go for the most "eager" seeming ppl , with the theory that the players that were wolves would be most eager to get on with the killing. (in this case Tablet and TetsuoShima both come to mind...) Having said that - the point about ppl being silent (or "quiet") is also valid - megalith is indeed looking suspicious... Then there was my third line of thinking that said "What the hell - stick it to S0V13T - just for the hell of it" ;D That leaves me with a "short list" ATM of Tablet , TetsuoShima , Megalith and S0V13T. ...and frankly I got no idea which way I'm gonna go ATM ! ??? I'm gonna ponder on it until this evening and see if anyone else adds anything here that swings me in any particular direction... Now for a question to TFMF - if we do indeed manage to kick out a Wolf - Will we be told at the time ? or will you keep silent and reveal the info at the end of the game ? [MM]

There has been some (small amount) of talk of bringing back Sapphire and Steel :D Would probably be with different actors though (shame!) There has also been talk for over a decade of bringing back Blakes 7 - but just talk. I LOVED Space 1999 - and yeah , a remake would be great :)

For me : SULU - hands down. ....with a special mention for Councillor Troy in TNG Generations - first (and last) time she took the helm she drove into a planet :P

Liked it a lot. Now - for the question at hand - D'anna seeing the "final five" : First , it was apparent she was drawn to ONE of the five in particular and spoke to them as though she recognised them. (that in itself I found predictable) But the thing that got me wondering was what happened when she returned to "the normal world". She did not recognise Gaius' presence at all when she initially returned - maybe she was just so overwhelmed , but I would have thought she would have continued the whole "I'm sorry" theme while in his (physical) presence - This *suggests* that it was NOT Gaius she saw. Then after she had downloaded and was talking to Brother Cavil - She said that "One day you will see them too" - suggesting that Brother Cavil had *not* already met (any of) them. Again , if the one she had recognised was Gaius I would have thought she would have said something along the lines of "You've already met them..." or "They are here amongst us..." etc etc. This also suggests that it wasn't one of the "main players" like Adama or Roslin or even Tigh - because D'anna knows that Brother Cavil knows them well (enough) and again she'd have spoken differently. (I would have thought) So , I'm currently asking myself : Who does D'anna know well enough to feel she had to apologise to (amongst the humans) that Brother Cavil either doesn't know or has hardly seen ? The suggestion that it's maybe Starbuck is interesting but don't ring true to me (as yet). There is also the outside chance that one of "the five" is already a known cylon ! -Kinda an undercover sort of thing going on.....just imagine if SIX was actually one of "the five" - it could explain about the sudden apologising and not revealing the info to Brother Cavil , it maybe even offers an explanation of Six's "mental presence" in Gaius's psyche , BUT this is just one of my crazy idea's I get from time to time so prolly is nowhere near the "truth". In 1978 Arthur C Clarke highlighted the design of the "Space Lift" (initially a Russian idea) , at the time it was unfeasible because we lacked the materials to actually make it - however in the 1990's materials that would be suitable for the job came into being.
