malakyle
Definately a great loss. However, I remember a show that had ended once but then came back. Maybe one day the site will return better than ever. But if it's definately the end I recall the phrase "all good things...".

PimPamPet
Don't listen to those who complain, Niteshdw. They are fucking idiots and should be shot. Thanks for your hard work on the website and torrents, I enjoyed it greatly (in fact, the rips you made were the motivation for me to buy all seasons of TOS and TNG). Thanks a bunch. I hope all works out well for you and your family.
maximaker
Hy NiteShdw, name's Max, 22, I'm from Romania. I'm a small fan of StarTrek and I was enjoying TNG, season by season until the "crash". You might laugh : at first I blamed my ISP for closing ports or restricting my access and sorta yelling involved. This morning, after I finished downloading Voyager season 7 by mistake, instead of TNG 7 I though I should have a look at the website, found the lawsuit news and .. well registered to thank you, for everything you've done. Thank you !!! Wish you best of luck, a peacefull life for you, your daughter and your family and hopefully you'll find some other ways to grow another kind of a smile, web related, ST related, SciFi fans related. Take care !
GorunNova
Thanks for everything you did, Nite... and I hope everything goes well, and that the MPAA spontaneously implodes from an overdose of pure malevolence (heh, right...). This is a great forum, and for the record I think that idiots like -you know who- should be strung up by their whatzits and smacked around like a piñata with a nailed baseball bat, given the trouble it has caused you to do what you have already done... eldorado
I'm relativily new to your site. I found you thru a torrent track for odyssey 5 I t's terribly unfortunate about the RIAA and all their bullshit they are putting you guys and everyone else thru. I dont dwnld much (I lie) but mostly thru limewire/frostwire and a little bitcommet. In the USA-big brother is everywhere-and out civil rights are wittled away every day in the ficticious propaganda of terrorism. I only started 4 months ago and am still learning. (Ol Farts club-47yrs-old-hard to teach an ol dog new tricks) I have mostly series that are no longer available (MST3K-etc) I've got to say, that the Odyssey 5 dwnld I got recently has got to be the best video/audio quality of anything I ever have gotton before. I was totally amazed. Fight the system-keep up the great work! Thanks to everyone that has held their own and is responsible for such great work! PHOEK the thankless leechers that dont upload and deserve to be banned. P.S. Niter, you may think of using a foreign server in malaysia or sumthing to keep anonmyity-sure would screw the RIAA that way
DSWIceman
I've been gone awhile and was sad to come back to find the torrent site gone, though I understand perfectly the reasons why. Thanks for all those good times here NiteShdw :)

trekkiedane
Too bad, but shat happens! Thanx Mr. Shdw! -I've learnt a lot about torrents, and such stuff from your service, and am very thankfull. As a ST-fan (sic) I have been able to observe a lot of strange behaviour from other trekkies, shipper wars between different ENT-tribes (on TBBS) to mention one, but I never knew that VOY fans didn't like pi... Anyway, with things as they are these days I might as well enjoy that spring is coming (yup, I was in Ft. Lauderdale for spring break!) _dane

NiteShdw
I see... Unfortunatley bit pump, the only program that is available to me does not yet have the dht protocol support. Also, I do not completely understand the technical issues or the technical explanations of how dht is supposed to work. For example I do not understand how a new computer yet unfamilliar with the swarm will find the first computer that has a dht table. What I mean is that let's say I am a new guy; I wan to connect and to download a file, let's say Star Trek Voyager Season 2. So how would my computer find out the IP adress of at least one compluter that has the dht. If there is no central trecker, the torrent file would somehow have to contain the list of the IP adresses of at least some computers that have the table. After your computer finds those machines everithing works fine... What if the IP adresses of those machines suddenly changes... How would a new guy find the changed ones? Some explanation could be in order? B) DHT is a distributed hash table. When you load a client that has DHT enabled, even if you don't ahve any torrents in your queue, your client sends a request to a certain node server to obtain a list of other clients. Your client then directly connects to those other clients. You do not have to be connected to every client in the world for your client to obtain information. Even if you are only connected to a few hundred peers, your client will send out a request for clients that are participating in a certain swarm (identified by the torrent's hash). That request goes through the network and your client begins to receive IP addresses of clients in the swarm. Once you begin to connect to those clients, the Peer Exchange protocol will be used to ask the clients you are connected to about other clients that they know about that you do not. In other words, even if every tracker in the world was taken down and disabled, DHT enabled clients would still connect to each other and track the torrents independently. With DHT the tracker becomes optional.
Krenim
Thanks nite for all you have done for this amazing site, haven't checked the site for some time and now it is gone.... But the most important thing isn't lost, The community! Downloaded all seasons of voyager and they were great!!! But one thing I'm starting to regret now is the fact that I never uploaded anything:(.... And now I don't have the chance anymore...:( It is and stays still the best scifi forum I encountered so far on the web, And with or without downloads...I still keep coming here!!!, from time to time Thanks Nite...! For this great community which you and your staff created!!!!;)
Hilden
Thanks nite. In Norway, all i have seen of Star Trek is the first two seasons of Voyager, and one season of Next Generation. If i were lucky, i could receive Entrerprise from Sweden (antenna). Then i found a torrent consisting of 170MB-sized Star Trek-episodes. Then i found more. And more. And more. Then, while watching Next Generation, i realiced there was a reference to a website imprinted at the beginning of every episode. I'm sorry to hear about your ended torrentbuisness - but again, thank you.
