Mav
Sci Fi started advertising the regular Get in the Gate Sweepstakes. It's not open just yet but when they start running commericals, that means it'll start soon (usually when the current season is over, which is almost here). If you've never heard of it, you enter this sweepstakes for free, and the winner gets a walkon role. I'm not exactly sure if they do it for both shows or the winner gets to choose. I know this years winner got her walk on role for Atlantis. You are guaranteed to be on camera at least once for a noticeable amount of time. Sometimes you even get a line of dialogue ;p I figure some Gate' fans will like to bookmark the url http://www.scifi.com/getinthegate/ and keep tabs on it, as it should be open soon. It costs you nothing to enter as far as I know, so you have nothing to really lose. Wish other shows would do this, but hey I'd love to be on SG1 or Atlantis (SG1 myself really). Anyways figured some people would be interested.
Mindwalker
Oooh! I'd like to have the part of a dying soldier or some shit... die in the arms of Carter! B)
Mav
I'd personally like to be taken over by one of the last remaining Goa'uld.

Mav
>_< No I just think it would cool to be a villian on a show. Plus the glowing eyes and hand devices the Goa'uld have are pretty cool
Mindwalker
I'd still go for the die in Carter's arm thing. Unless there was cake, of course.
NITRO1250
If I win, I hope I don't get to die on camera by a wraith/staff weapon! That would stink so bad! Look at it this way, atleast we can show our kids that we rubbed elbows with the cast. C'mon, autographs are going to be cool too. This is going to rock! wahaha
This contest is hogworsh. As enjoyable as rolling on a nest of fire ants. You're not going to play a villain, and you're not going to get a speaking role. You'd have to get paid for that, and they're too cheap. Plus you have to be in the SAG. You don't even get 15 SECONDS of fame. Just search for the article on scifi written by the first lady to win the contest. It was the ep where they showed the president of the US for the first time. She was the secretary in the blue dress in the oval office.
dizzyg
thats pretty much the most you could expect wahaha, i mean they're not going to give a non actor a leading roll in an international hit series! dont be silly. and "being on tv" is only really 1/10 of the prize, you get to meet all your fave actors and actresses face to face, not to mention just being on the set of one og the SG series, id kill for that alone. wahaha
Did you read the article she wrote, where she said Anderson yelled at her for staring at him while he was doing a scene? I wouldn't want to be there if the actors are going to treat guests like that. They realize the show is popular, but I wouldn't want some 500 pound stargate obsessed unwashed bucket of grease hanging around me and staring either, like most of the people are who goto conventions. I realize though you can only take so much no matter how friendly you try to be. To me it's not worth it unless you get more recognition than 5 seconds of screen time from the neck up at 200 feet away from the camera. Pretty much the only people lucky enough to visit the set are people who know the director or producer, or the kin of the actors. There's a link to a tour on some stargate site that I put in one of the sections here in the forum. The Bridge Studios
NITRO1250
To me, it is not about the fame and glory about getting picked, it is about the behind the scenes experience. I am a Digital Media Studies major any my university and it would be well worth my while to see what a production looks like, especially the way the lighting of each scene is done. Besides, it would look cool on my resume.
