I decided to revisit this one, as something kept luring me back to it. I found that I had missed out on something, and that it simply took me a while to unravel the complicated plot structure. Once I did that, I enjoyed the twists and turns of it a lot more, and began to understand how it all fit together, kind of like a mystery or a jigsaw puzzle. It's still not quite an 8 out of ten, but maybe a 7.8 is closer the mark than 7.5. :cyclops:

Just listened to this - "twists and turns", really? Maybe I missed something then, as I didn't hear anything unexpected! It was nice that they'd link back to earlier parts of the story.

The dialogue was good and there were some funny lines (not something you often get with the 5th doc stories), and I liked the letter passing from the companions & the doc. Some nice Peri / Erimem development - looks like theres a few threads that may be extended further - like Beliefs (even though this story came after The Council of Nicaea which had faith and erimem's convictions as a central part) that could push the principles verses friendship more?

I probably should have guessed Satan was Will Shakespear earlier (didn't suspect it was the master as the story tried to imply, but did come across as someone from the future using technology more advanced than they were), and one line puzzles - the part about Satans time machine (from the dialogue it seemed to be a lot smaller and easier to move than the Tardis???

It was nice John Culshaw was involved - especially for the doctors previous notes :D
