Tenebrae
I think that the constant toing and froing over whether Daniel was on the level proved to be rather tiresome after a while as - on the balance of probability - he probably was... I was however, somewhat surprised that their plan worked. This is rather a good example of how SG-1 manage to CONSTANTLY raise the stakes though. We move in threat levels from purely Earth to all of the galaxy and eventually all the way up to a battle between god like beings themselves... which of course, they just managed to win but at what cost? Probably one of their shortest victories ever. It's annoying Adria's eyes aren't golden anymore... what's up with that? Do the contacts cost that much and having them flash just makes it too much like her being a Goa'uld but that's a petty gripe (I thought it was hot). Overall, it was a pretty enjoyable episode - I'd have liked it more if we weren't forced to endure the uncertainty element... it just felt a little forced. The IOA thing was a bit much too, still. Pretty good, we'll have to see how the war goes now. Personally, were I SG-1 the top priority would have to be destroying the supergate. Centurion
Excellent episode! B) Too bad the next eps seem to be fillers... ::) It was great to see the real SG-1 back together. This episode brought back so many good memories. I hope O'Neill shows up again in the coming eps. Somehow I doubt Daniel/Merlin's plan succeeded. The Ori can't be destroyed so easily, not without a ton of special effects anyway. Adria or the Ori themselves must have disabled Merlin's weapon when the ship reached their galaxy. Either way, now the Ori and their followers are pissed off and probably on their way to destroy Earth. And they have Merlin's weapon, so theoretically they could also destroy the Ancients. Tenebrae
Hahaha, I constantly forget to close those spoiler tags... as this is a spoiler thread, I don't know why I bother anyway. It is questionable as to whether they did actually get the Ori - as Daniel pointed out, they'd not know if it worked. Also, I'm not exactly sure how the whole Ascended beings position translates into real space. Weird.
Centurion
Is it necessary to use spoiler tags in episode threads like this one? Aren't spoilers implied or something? If not, please let me know... :-\
TFMF
Spoiler tags aren't required in episode discussion threads that give an appropriate warning in the first post, but it can be considerate of members who use the spoiler tags anyway if they'd rather not spoil it for other members who might not have watched the episode yet and missed the warning in the first post. Tenebrae
Are we back to filler episodes? Hahaha, that doesn't surprise me. After all, last season, 5 episodes until it's all over... we couldn't POSSIBLY just have one rip roaring story arc to polish it off. They dodged that bullet in season 8 and I imagined they'd be damned if they were going to get hit this time. I imagine they're leaving it deliberately ambiguous as to whether the Ori are gone but I think it's probably fair to say that if the ancient device had failed, then the Ori followers wouldn't have been so mightily pissed off. In any event, if they just forget that they've got a big fleet of Ori ships going around the galaxy... well, it'll be going out with a whimper rather than a bang. TFMF
Both Atlantis and SG-1 have been Excellent this week. This episode featured many twists, starting with Daniel turning out to be a Prior. It explains why he's been absent from previous episodes and it was good that we saw some scenes leading up to his conversion (If they were true) The ending of this episode was fantastic - the suspense just kept building as Daniel tried to shut down and then re-active the Super Gate. and we were left on a great cliffhanger. I was slightly confused as to how the Ori had been killed - wasn't Adria the only one who was killed/injured? I probably missed the important past ::) Also nice seeing O'neill again. Carnifex
well... as STARGATE: THE ARK OF TRUTH is about an all out final attack on Earth by the Ori, it's pretty obvious that they ain't all dead. MOD NOTE: SORRY I HAD TO DO THAT BUT THATS QUITE SOME SPOILER YOU HAVE THERE!
Tenebrae
Adria wouldn't be killed by the device - presumably - she's not an Ascended being.
Hilander72
This episode was a good one. There were a few surprises and the ending was a little strange, leaving one to wonder what happened. I can only assume the Ori are still around (still a few eps to go ;)). Where does Adria (beautiful as always) and the priors get their powers from? (The Ori/technology?). TFMF
I'm pretty sure their power comes from the same source as the Ori get their power from - the followers. Or perhaps the Ori use the power they get from their followers and use it to fuel their priors and Adria.
maybrick
I'm pretty sure their power comes from the same source as the Ori get their power from - the followers. Or perhaps the Ori use the power they get from their followers and use it to fuel their priors and Adria. I think the Ori used pretty much the same technology that Anubis used to create his superclone from last season or what the machine that gave Rodney the superpowers in The Tao of Rodney over on Atlantis. I doubt Adria and Prior receive their powers directly from the Ori, but I'm sure they can go to them for an upgrade or directions whenever they need to. If the Ori are indeed dead, the Priors are still pretty damned powerful they just don't have access to any more knowledge. That's going to make it really difficult for them down the line when they need to build more starships. Obviously the societies in the Ori galaxy are not advanced enough to build anything even approaching that level of sophistication on their own. paniq
As none of the followers "see" the Ori, then warships with Priors on could simply carry on in the name of their religion - all is required is their faith their "gods" exist. Whether the weapon worked or not won't change anything. It was just daft no one thought of re-engaging the gate again!-
