pec2000uk Posted December 6, 2005 Share Posted December 6, 2005 i got the DVD free in a newspaper, so shows how "well" it did over in the UK, the origonal was so much better, and why when they show "children of the gods" in the UK did they cut out the scene with the boobie in it??? bet the ameri-porns got to see them! GlaC Posted February 11, 2006 Share Posted February 11, 2006 How can someone not know the movie... Its the basis for the series, without it, you just mis a part... At least that is what i recently came to figure out, since i only started watching SG-1 since a week... Really have to get used to O'Neill though since, he used to play mcguyver, the worst and most bad acted program ever made... But i already got a bit used to it... I think the masks of the Goa'uld in the movie looked better though. Also the alien Ra, looked a bit like a asgard alien like figure, when you see him die at the end, and when they tell the story about what he is... Whats up with that? They're so huge and unwieldy it looks like you could just push someone over if they were wearing one and what's more - they also seem to have absolutely no tactical value. A few shots from a p-90 or staff blast still drop them like they were wearing tissue paper. Glad they get rid of them after a few seasons. I think after Sci-Fi takes over. The movie and the TV series do have so incongruities. They seem to establish Ra as the last of his kind and they don't mention he's the supreme system lord and yes, Ra seems to be more like someone possessing that girly boy than a parasitic alien.
