  1. Well even in the Empire Strikes back, the rebels had shit all in hte way of ships =P...and at most there woulda been 100 mon calamari cruisers against the 25,000 star destroyers. What Star wars never deals with after killing the one insignificant death star is the remaining 25,000 star destroyers. One dude with the force and a handful of capital ships aint gonna kick any imperial arse.

What's also strange about those figures that chief pilly posted on that Troop transport vs Enterprise page...is that a single shot from a troop's transport's main gun would destroy an entire moon, and blow a huge chunk out of an earth size planet, if not also destroying it. Why even bother with a death star =P?

  2. Yeah, that bloody retarded shadow of his dad you have as your president has managed simply to piss off almost the whole world and at what benefit? Did he get Osama? Has terrorism actually dropped off? NOPE - It's gotten worse.

He's basically stuffed up things for the whole globe.

    Nice Work George Junior.

I just can't believe you americans were dumb enough to give the bloke more than 1 term. What is wrong with you people?

it's because they dont have compulsary voting, so their voting system never truely reflects the entire american public's views. sounds like they need to take a hint from some other REAL democratic countries, hehe. COMPULSARY VOTING!

  3. Yea not to mention that the numbers From SW are so staggering it would make you pee your pants. Could you imagine a few million Lite, Medium, Heavy Cruisers, Troop Transports, around 25,000 Star Destroyers.

    Per Star Destroyer:

    72 TIE Fighters x 25,000 = 1,800,000 Tie Fighters

    12 T/I x 25,000 = 300,000 Tie Interceptors

    12 T/B x 25,000 = 300,000 Tie Bombers

    20 AT-ATs x 25,000 = 500,000 AT-ATs

    30 AT-ST x 25,000 = 750,000 AT-STs

    9,700 Storm Trooper soldiers x 25,000 = 242,500,000 Storm Troopers

And thats only counting the SD's not including the SSD and scores of other ships....overwhealming to think about it

If they have all that kind of power at their disposal...how did the rebels beat them, even without their silly deathstar the rebels could never have beaten those numbers of star destroyers.

  4. any idea about the Tri and Quad cobalt torps !?

Some sources say that the tri and quad cobalt weapons are actually nuclear devices just used for demolition against unshielded targets (as thats all nukes are good for), while in a voyager episode when seven of nine is doing all her crazy conspiracy crap, they talk about them being some kind of sub space weapon or something.

  5. These are TURBO LASERS... like the FEDS Photon Torps... which has nothing to do with Photons.

Curious about the science behind the Turbo laser and how it works. And they do have something do to with photon, it's how the anti matter is detonated. Quantum torpedoes carry the same type antimatter warhead just like photons with a different kind of detonator...quantum torpedoes are much safer and therfore can carry a larger antimatter warhead.

And there ARE laser beams which are visible... a laser sight for example.

The actual beam of a laser is not visible only its point of termination. A laser beam will become visible in smoke however. There is no smoke in space last time i checked, lol.

  6. The empire has a stun setting on their weapons Mcant (SW: A New Hope; stormtroopers stunning princess bunhead). Anyway this "laser" technology the Empire have, aren't federation shields completely immune to lasers, as evidenced in several TOS, and TNG episodes. A particle accelerator just seems a much more damaging weapon then a silly laser. A laser shouldn't even be visible yet somehow magically streaks across the screen because SW science is a joke =P.

PS: The federation do have a super weapon...trilithium...the ability to destroy an entire solar system in a massive nova/supernova.

  7. hey which order did they air in :

was it SG1 first and then Atlantis? Do they have cross storylines ?

    Or does it not matter?

You should have done the smart thing like i did...just not watch channel 7 at all.

Season 8 of stargate and season 1 of atlantis take place at the same time...watch them like that

    for EG:

    Episode 1 Season 8 SG1, then episode 1 Season 1 SG-A, lol

    stupid channel 7

  8. because i'm in South OZ,

    . . . oh, and i can't afford it :)

But i did hear it will be here soon:)

i've got 1.5mbs with TPG, they are in south aus =P...im getting 15-30kb/sec...it should pick up soon to maybe 40 or 50...it also helps that im uploading at 25k/sec, lol

  9. and on behalf of Australia - where it's mid afternoon on a saturday...

..we thankyou for the torrent :)

What is the SG1 Quality like?

    why dont you get 1.5mbs? or iinet's new 12mbs adsl2 =P?

  10. boohoo.... waaaaaaaa!!!

:( ...[me lying on the floor kicking and screaming]...

Hey I'm in your position too =P...but it seems to be creeping up to about 30+kb/sec =D...why what's your adsl? lol

  11. In both Doctor Who and Enterprise' date=' that kind of technology is unreliable and easily tampered with.[/quote']

Yeah as enterprise is set 200+ years before TNG, DS9, VOY...i'd expect it to be unreliable! And star trek is based on real phsyics, they have whole books on the subject. Current day physicists are already transporting photons, single atoms, etc. The ideas for the technology in star trek were always based on believable current day physics theories and facts. Despite the writers sometimes swaying off with their imaginations a bit i think star trek is actually one of the fewest scifi's that comes close to acurately portraying a possible future. For example battlestar galactica new series looks very realistic you might argue...but some of their medical technology is more backward then our own, lol. my point is there always seems to be plenty of inconsitencies in scifi when it comes to being realistic in the science deparment. star trek comes closest. and if you really want to argue that out, take it to the star trek section and go...explain this, and ill give you a real life physics explanation in 10 mins ;).

    Resistance is futile Daleks!

  12. Daleks would capture a Cyberman, leave him to be assimulated. The Borg would now have the Cybermen weakness. Gold. All the Daleks would have to do is hit them with Gold powder.

    Ok thats about it.

Yeah weird people, rofl...i just dont really see that happening, however whats more likely is a giant tribble coming along and gobbling up the entire space time continium, imploding the omniverse in its wake and destroying all 11 dimensions, then doing a big fat turd on your head =P.

  13. Kid almost Everything in a star trek starship is possible Unlike Dr Who. Pick up the Physics of of Star Trek sometimes. Also has far has we know about dimensions there are only 4. 1-D,2-D,3-d and Time (the fourth). So the tardis is improbable.

Actually there are 11 dimensions. (Real Physics)

And this tardis crap sounds exactly like space folding technology which exists within startrek. There were experiments first done with it in the 22nd century with that kind of transporter technology, and have continued to curent day trek. Infact voyager considered using the technology to get home once, but couldn't adapt it to their ship's systems.

1: For a Dalek to sever the connection between ALL of the borg in a single cube it has to get rid of the viniclium. Now how would a tin case like a Dalek enter the Heart of a Cube and come up unscathed? So severing the connection is hard unless the dalek is suicdal and it's useless since it only affects the single Cube.

you can block individual transmissions to a couple of drones for all those dr who fans thinking of that, but you cant block drone to cube links on a cube, or between cubes basically the network is just to redundent

3: The Drone's speed depends on who they are after. Most of the time we see them going after humans. Humans tire easily in a Borg enivornment (it has more humidity and is hotter).

Every seen a borg scuttler? Or some of their 9 foot high assimilated bad arse drones? LoL...the borg have assimilated dogs for christ sake. The only drones you ever see are standard crappy humanoids, the borg have specialist drones that are deployable.

About the time travel. Has i said again Time travel is impossible to be utilised unless you want to iniate a Paradox.

1: You go back in time

    2: You kill your father

    3: You then won't exist

4: You won't go back in time beacuse you don't exist

5: Your father is stil alive then

    6: You exist

    7: Start at 1

Thats Time travel for you. So leave it out. Thats probably the only reason why the Borg went back in time only once. They were probably going to send all of the info they had to the borg of timeline.

I think we should just rule the time travel idea out alltogether because it wouldn't happen fullstop...the daleks would cease to exist from Q/federation agent intervention. SO NO FREAKING TIMETRAVEL as stated above your silly wipe them out in the past method wont work in star trek.

  14. Man, Rolf was on the other side, if I WANTED to see a show about sick dogs, I'd put that on, and have the added value of watching a demented australian. (I'm really sorry, this is SUCH a UK reference)

I take offence to that hippie!

  15.

Hey, projectile and melee weapons work well against the Borg...

The borg adapt to different kinds of weapons, which in itself seems absolutely stupid they aren't already adapted to projectile weapons but whatever, stupid startrek writer fuck up! lol...anyway the borg hadn't encountered a "tommy gun" before so they hadn't adapted yet. Went straight through their force field. Projectile weapons would be useless against the collective after a few shots as they'd adapt, otherwise the federation would run around slugging borg drones full of led from machine guns, lol. phasers being an energy weapon prove a much more effective as they can change frequency to counteract the borg shields adapting. and if i recall in voyager, borg drones have been struck from hand to hand combat and their shields have lit up. obviously adapted to melee? i suppose another star trek writing fuck up cos worf and data own the borg in first contact in melee...stupid writers, lol. infact i could bitch all day about how the writers have fucked the borg up tonnes, changing stuff all the time and it not flowing! but back on topic =D

  16. The Dalek's fitted projectile weapons for the same reason Borg fear them....you cannot defeat them with electronic jiggerypokery. Unarm daleks swiftly become machine gun toting daleks.

Projectile weapons can't penetrate forcefields, sounds like jiggerypokery can defeat them to me! well in fact micro-deflectors, forcefields, shields, would all be immune to a projectile weapon!

Btw...exactly what is a skeleton death ray? sounds like something straight out flash gordon, lol.

  17. Edit: Heh... Dalek guns are very flexible... they seem to be able to emit laser blasts' date=' 'see the skeleton' eradication beams, electrical pulses, etc, and if necessary projectile weapons can be attached...[/quote']

All these wonderful weapons don't sound very advanced to me, lol. Lasers, flame throwers, projectile weapons? LoL...these are hardly the weapons of choice for a powerfully advanced alien race. Though on the contrary it seems awfully pathetic that the borg's shields dont protect from hand to hand weaponry?

  18. I wonder how many seconds it would have taken the Daleks to land' date=' wipe every living thing out of Montana and turn old Zeff's rocket into a big metal puddle.[/quote']

Therefore violating the temporal accords =P

  19. "hello federation you are a gold mine of information on how to beat the borg and stop them from assimlating our poor race" "what your going to just give us all the info youve got on the borg Why thankyou and goodbye" ps I mean goodbye as in once we finish with the borg were commin for you

dalek's vs the federation is another matter altogether, lol i think it'd be hard to say who'd win as the federation has plenty of abilities that it could wield if the need be...time travel, the ability to destroy a star, and im sure plenty of others, plus they have their Q friends.

  20. Definately any battles involving the dominion...the two major assaults by the klingons and dominion on ds9 were quite memorable. it's cool watching one single station sit there hurling volley after volley of photon torpedoes at the bastards and all their crappy lil ships blowing up :cyclops:. The whole nemesis space battle *Drule*. Picards quote just before the battle was quite cool "And like a thousand other commanders on a thousand other battlefields, I wait for the dawn". well my $0.005 USD
