halojones
The cylons have attempted reproduction, as thats one of God's Commandments, we were told this previously, in the farm esisode. They said these efforts all failed, and they though it might be due to a lack of love, thus the boomer-helo experiement was attempted. Its still possible that Helo is a cylon, we haven't had a result from Baltars test on him. Although the 'mixed' blood they spoke of, and lack of antigens on the baby would suggest he is in fact human. I ponder if the harvey-6 and harvey-baltar are an early format of cylon breeding system, or perhaps simply a messup in their download software, so when both bodies were redownloaded for release, they became mixed. Baltar's unseen 'escape' from the nuke that hit his residence, and now caprica-6 being shown reincarnating with a harvey-baltar. Its certainly all poitning with big letters t Baltar being a cylon. And of course he couldn't test himself, as his own deepseated coding would prevent him telling himself he's a cylon also ;) Wonder if its just too obvious, certainly buildign very nciely. I love BSG, sci-fi thats gone for almost 2 series now, and has had virtunally no filler esisodes, all plot, all character development, and lots of action. Lokkison
Umm, as #3 and Caprica 6 were walking she did mention 'therse a #2...etc'. I'd be guessing it was one of the male skin-jobs that we have already seen that WAS on that balcony. Remember numbers don't mean squat if we are to believe what was discussed towards the end of episode 18 of season 2.
Hilander72
In the original the numbers are rank ie #1 Emperor, #2 Lucifer, and there are also referals to earlier models but still there is a hierarchy based on power/achievements not what basic model they are. I'd guess that the quantity of a model is related to #model number/intelligence ie #12 centurion, #11 fighter, etc. And than would make #3 'Xena' the most dangerous/cunning yet to be revealed. halojones
hmm i've a different view, i think number might relate to the order in whcih they are made, and each one could be made to fulfill a role, ie interrogator, liar, sleeper, commander etc - and as each role was decided to be needed they generated the cylon modle to fulfill it possibly as their technology increased their abilities to add more complex human emotions increased thus sharon is more human than 6 who appears to have more complex emotions to 3.xena who seems anger and rage and subdifuge to fulfill her fole

That suggest that the more 'advanced' model are capable of more multiple tasks, but still some of the 'lesser' models could be specialist in covert operations, etc... Then I'd guess there is some kind of hierarchy among the cylons, cause Sahron and Six are considered heroes/rolemodels.
mateya
What I want to know is why the human cylons can can use only specific body (designed for them or so it seems) and no one elses. It doesnt make sense to me that specific consciousness can be trasfered only in specific body model - what would happen if it would be the body from the other cylon model (like #3consciousness in #6body); shutdown or what? bones2097
i guess it the way the brain is wired up..... cylons have issues with being dl into another body..... so if they were dl into a different body all their brain signals would mean something else... they have to learn how to walk & talk again.... a big waste of time!!! well nice to know that even the cylons haven't figured out how the brain works completely yet.... you'd guess that if you gave a computer 40 years of evolution it would be all knowing at the end of its term... since it would be equivalent to around 100 million years at least in human years.... i guess they were to cought up in there plans to take over the world!!!!! (with a bit of help from pinky & the brain :) )
remedyu
Well, at least they know how to make hot looking cylons, even if their brains are a little problematic.

Amnot Borg
Lucy is listed as a guest star. However, she's a skinjob Cylon so she's popped up a lot lately in season 3. Every show? Seems like it from the stuff I read.
Chiggy
You've got to laugh at the way she reads some of her lines and tries to put on a American Accent............then all of sudden a bit of New Zealand drawl drifts out her mouth.........and I start rolling on the floor with laughter! Thank the Gods they pulled her plug.
Centurion
I disagree! I want my favorite Cylon model back... I don't understand why she has to speak with US accent, though. For all we know, nobody should speak English at all on BSG. ;)
Chiggy
If you bought the retail DVD's you'll know that the actor who plays Lee speaks with a posh upper class English accent.............he makes a good job of his American. Unlike Lawless!
Hilander72
Rura Penthe is only a few clicks away... :-X *Speaking with a Swedish accent* Since English isn't my first (not even 2nd or 3rd) language. I can hardly tell the difference between most English accents and as far as I'm concerned it doesn't matter as long as I and others can understand what they're saying. (OK, I have to admit that I have a hard time understanding Irish and often have to read the substitles. ;))
Chiggy
Getting into character is very important skill for any actor. That always involves change of accent and sometimes a change of language. Some actors are better than others........and I do believe it is the measure of a character actor. That is why Chris Lambert in Highlander speaks English (Scottish) and not French........because his character is Scottish. I agree that each of the twelve colonies do have and should have their own languages but sadly that is not what mainstream television and film making is about. As the majority of fans for Galactica are precieved by its productions team as 'Americans' all characters speak American.............perhaps they should be cast into Rura Penthe for their ignorance? Although they were not the first and most certainly not the last. If you are going to have an all American show like Galactica..........then please at least keep it consistent. Hilander72
I understand what you're trying to say. For a while I thought you had something against 'kiwis'... ;) It's becoming more important for shows to be International, since selling the production Internationally is become more vital every day, since he production costs are getting higher than what can be supported by a domestic market, but that is not a reason why the actors/actresses should use their skills. ----- Lucy Lawless?? I'm not a fan and really haven't had any interest in her career, etc... Got no opinion about her as an actress other than she's well known and has helped Battlestar Galactica to attract new viewers and fans, which is good. :)
Megalith
lol since when have cylons been expected to be American. which particular American accent should they speak in, my girlfriend is American (born Georgia lives in Illinois) and sometimes i cant understand what she is saying lawless however i have no trouble understanding at all, i too am sorry she is in cold storage indefinitely and hope they take her out soon as she was a great model. You have to remember that BSG is for a worldwide market and is not exclusively American. In Europe many movies have been made with actors from all over Europe and it is not seen as 'Thats not right she speaks with a Norwegian accent' point of view. Get with the program lol if it comes to it the people of New Zealand like the people of America are primarily of European origin and these 12 colonies would not really speak American so what difference does an accent make ???
