Amnot Borg
Until seeing that list, I had never heard of the "White Guardian". TARDIS makes more sense to me. *can you tell, I'm a doctor who newbie* if people aren't posting here... is it .....a lack of interest in current content? .....a lack of understanding how the forum software works? .....because they are to busy reading all our old posts? .....fear from the "T-word" problem of 2006? .....just a matter of time until they plan a coup? I wonder.
TFMF
When Antilles took over the Doctor Who forums, he requested the usergroup which moderated that forum be changed from 'TimeLord' to 'White Guardian'.
Amnot Borg
When Antilles took over the Doctor Who forums, he requested the usergroup which moderated that forum be changed from 'TimeLord' to 'White Guardian'. there ya go, TimeLord makes more sense to me as well. White Guardian seems obscure to me, where does the name come from?
TFMF
I can't remember exactly, but i think it comes from the Doctor Who story 'The Pyramids of Mars'.
GorunNova
The 'White Guardian' is supposed to be the personification of goodness and order in the Doctor Who universe, and even the Time Lords give him respect... so I can see why he picked that name. ^^ The Black Guardian is more notable to watchers of the old series, though... mostly because he's evil. Megalith
I can't remember exactly, but i think it comes from the Doctor Who story 'The Pyramids of Mars'. no lol the white guardian was first introduced in the story with tom baker about the pieces of the key to time which starts with The Ribos Operationand finishes with the doctor almost being tricked into giving the key to the black guardian claiming to be the White Guardian. During the Davidson era Turlough makes a pact with the black guardian which is resolved in the story called enlightenment where Turlough chooses good over evil. TFMF
Yeah i don't know where i got it that they were from the Pyramids of mars. I thought those mummies in PoM were guardians (I seem to remember there was a good and bad mummy near the end or somthing like that...) Really need to rewatch these episodes... ::)
USWhoFan
I don't have any problems with the management here, although I do think that Timelord is much better than White Guardian, but it still fits. B)
