Just been looking through the BBC web pages and discovered that Doctor Who was the second most watched programme on Christmas day with 9.8 million viewers, only being beaten by Eastenders. Quite an incredible performance for a show that the BBC refused to bring back for, what was it, 16 years? Now that they have seen the light maybe they will get their collective fingers out and commision a new series of Red Dwarf as well :D

Simply the best 45 minutes of British Sci Fi ever! Well done BBC

I don't know if this is common knowledge or not but in an article in this weeks "What's On TV" Russell T Davies the shows writer commented when asked what wonders lie in store on the Doctor's continuing adventures ? ~ "Cybermen! We were going to keep it secret like we tried with the Daleks - but we knew their photo would be in the tabloids within five minutes. Something to look forward too there.....now about these Ice Warriors

Superb episode but it looks like next week will be even better. The weekends will seem quite empty after next Saturday

Really difficult choice between Patrick Troughton and Tom Baker. Went for Troughton as he was the first Doctor I ever saw, still remember the episodes with the Yeti in the London underground!
