    The Borg

Actually, Gene Roddenberry even hinted at a connection between V'Ger and the Borg. In the Motion Picture, it said that the Voyager probe crash landed on a "machine world", and that the machines recognized that they were essentially kin, although the probe was much more simplistic. So they built the V'Ger craft to allow it to fulfill its programming. Roddenberry hinted that the "machine world" could have been the Borg home world, but he never stated it firmly. ALSO- there's no evidence that the Borg didn't know where Earth was, they merely didn't appear to care about Earth at that time.
  2. Because it stunk. However, when the humor is on the level of a 13 year old, then its not always good. Give me something a little more subtle please. Spreading its wings? Huh? I don't know about you but I like my action scenes to have some sort of CONTEXT, some sort of REASON for them, rather than "we need to pick up the pace of the film! LET'S PUT IN AN ACTION SCENE!!" I don't think it will be remembered, period. Yes, albeit its all very contrived. Where did Shinzon get the resources to put a ship like that together anyway? So let me get this straight, this is why you liked the movie: Action scene A little bit of character building Battle scene Battle scene So basically if we put Chuck Norris, or Steven Seagal on a spaceship and had them do their usual stuff for 2 hours, that'd be a good movie?
  3. The general complaint levied at Nemesis is that it boldly goes where we've all been before.. about 8 movies ago. The plot is so much like Wrath of Khan sometimes that they could've just put Shatner and Ricardo Montalban in some scenes and it'd work. Hell, you even had the science officer commit suicide to save the crew. The 'epiphany' that Picard has mirrors the 'epiphany' that Kirk has in WOK. People also dislike the whole plotline with B-4 and how Lore is never even mentioned. Yes it had a rise and fall of the story, every movie does. Good and bad movies do. Whoopdidoo. I don't think anybody criticized the action, the action was fun. But explosions and crashes do not a good film make.
  4. TNG - Darmok If I wanted to show someone who had never heard of Star Trek, and wanted to convey the essence of what the whole thing was about, this episode would be it.
  5. I've been to the Hilton and seen both the original Experience attraction (now called "Klingon Encounter") and Borg Invasion 4D... I loved them both for different reasons. Klingon Encounter rocks just for the "you're on the Enterprise" experience. Borg Invasion was more elaborate though, with Borg snatching away the tour guide at one point! The attraction culminates with the group being loaded into a large shuttle (theater) and given a motion ride. If you've ever been to Disney World its similar to their Philharmagic or Muppet Show 3D shows, but very Star Trek. Thumbs up to both. They also have a museum area leading into the rides that has props from all the shows/movies.
  6. Personally.. I think Janeway's just a bitch. That's all the reason I need to pick on her.
  7. (At long last, Star Trek: Enterprise can join the ranks of its Trek brethren in the Fill in the Blank game! You know the drill..) Captain Archer came onto the bridge with a stern look on his face. He had been expecting a fight when Enterprise had been ordered to explore a region of Klingon space. It appeared that he was going to have that fight. But what he didn't expect was ____________
