I love it! This totally sums women up, a total contradiction.......the fact that you have been with her long term!

Well right now I dont have myself a women (I`m not gay or owt) but in the good old days before I knew better........my lines were short and sweet.

"Hows it going?" is always a good lead into conversation and its never failed for me.........because no ones going to turn around and think your pathetic for saying that.

Sorry, but your conclusion doesn't follow from your premise... why does the origin point of the universe have anything directly to do with the complexity of conditions for life? (just a comment...)

Actually is has everything to do with it........

Our planet relies upon the position of both the sun and moon..........our atmosphere is also very complex with the correct combination of gases. With these conditions I think our planet is unique. It has its own unique position with in in the universe created by the big bang.

The origin of the point of the universe has a lot to do with it actually……..here is an idea………..get a large bag of marbles (say 100) tip them out on one point on the floor (simulating a big bang effect) and you will see out of the 100 marbles no marble measures the exact same distance from another. The distance representing the conditions for life to evolve. Ok now get a bag of a million marbles and then tip that out on the same point on the floor…….probability is increased because there are more marbles……..we find that probabiluity dictates that there must be one marble thats teh same distance from another (but we are still not certain)...........but one marble represents only one factor……..so then we multiply the number of factors to sustain life (as we know it) to provide a figure. Put it this way………it’s a chance in hell!

Just out of curosity......isnt the hanger bay of a different design to that used in the series?

If we assume the universe started fom a single point we could very well be alone as the conditions to sustain life are very complex and the chance of a re-occurence of those conditions anywhere else in the universe are slim.

The miniseries is the pilot...........the opening sequence is the space station meeting with the cylons. You can worry about directors extras later.

They bunged the whole lot onto a DVD and called it the pilot........I know because I own it. You can pick it up real cheap.

Galactica 80 was a bit crap I thought.........the 'what happened to Starbuck episode' is worth watching.

The old Starbuck was a wooden character.........like most of the characters on TV at the time. His character in the A-Team was identical.........although I thought the name Templton Peck was a far cooler name than Starbuck........well I mean.........it sounds like some bloke who fiddles with horses!

The trying too hard to be cool is what this character is all about. Shes the war hero and card gambler on the outside but inside shes troubled, fragile and lonely. In life there are many people like this including many great generals of WW2.

The whole Borg concept is floored if you ask me.

In First Contact we see Worf in hand to hand against the Borg clubbing them to death with a phaser rifle...........but wait a minute, why didnt the borg adapt so that pyhsical blows would just bounce of some sort of armour plate?

.........and in the episode of TNG where we first meet with the Borg we see Worf (a much younger and fitter klingon) trying to tackle only ONE Borg by charging at it and the Borg then proceeds to beat him using only two fingers?

Whilst I was in the pub last night.......rather than eyeing up the nice young ladies........i was thinking about this post. So how would one Borg take over the Earth and the answer is so simple.........

A. Introduce nanites into the water supply.

B. Dis-assemble himself (implants) to manufacture advanced technology (perhaps a replicator). So you see he wouldnt just be limited to the materials found on the Earth if he recycled himself!
