  1. Yes, no gunfight with the rogue Centurian at the OK Corrall....what a shame..... Lukeyson
  2. heyhey! Niteshdw.com is back up! The world is now a better place..... Lukeyson
  3. So is it being seeded anywhere? Anyone got any links? Lukeyson
  4. BTW, the uploads will crawl for the next day or so while I empty my DL queue. Lukeyson
  5. There's a whole set of individual series from Apollo8 to Apollo17. I don't have any of those (except maybe a butchered version of Apollo11). This is all digital conversions of NASA Archive stuff. There is a collection on the Space Shuttle coming out, but will only cover STS01 to STS04 of the flights, along with all the test flights of Enterprise from the back of a 747. Nothing in the timeframe you're after I'm afraid. We've plonked some of the good stuff up in the Documentaries area already, but the really good stuff can be found at the mvgroup. Lukeyson
  6. I will be slowly releasing the 6-Disc Spacecraftfilms Mercury DVD Collection if anyone is interested (www.spacecraftfilms.com). It's hard-core. Original NASA footage and documentaries from the first-man-in-space effort. Many video clips without sound, and many audio recordings without video. Includes footage of the original Mercury Redstone and Mercury Atlas test launches, much footage of the original engineering validation for such things as heat shields, recovery procedures, spacecraft control and a collection of original press footage of the Mercury 7 and their medical testing and training. I'd like some feedback if anyone finds this useful, because I have a number of these collections on DVD (Gemini, Saturn IB, Saturn V, Saturn Engineering Reports, Liftoff). Lukeyson
  7. Just hanging out down here in Oz for an encode to appear. Waiting, waiting..... Lukeyson
  8. Yes, the show appears to be shot in Canada - in Vancouver particularly. Probably in the same facility as Stargate and the first few seasons of the X-Files. I've been able to recognise places like the main Library in the City in the 'Cylon Occupied Caprica' sequences in series 1, although like any series the locations chop and change to keep it looking different - I recognised some bits outsitde GM Place and Plaza of Nations as well. 9. Rocky mate, you might want to edit the name of that torrent. Niteshdw doesn't take too kindly to gobbledy-gook names and he just deletes them if they aren't simple. So says the word of experience..... Lukeyson
  10. I saw on the bottom of the S2x07 PROPER release that 'Andromeda' was coming up next. Surely this is a repeat isn't it? I thought Andromeda was canned after S5 with very little fanfare? (compared to Enterprise that is.) Lukeyson
  11. Nope. I saw it discussed somewhere at ishunt.com that BSG 2005 2x08 won't show until 9/9/05. Lukeyson
  12. Nope, not even the Farm did it for me. I'm still on the anti-starbuck side of the fence for now. Lukeyson
  13. Well, I had to balance equally, because while I think the new series is better, TOS was pretty good for it's time. Factor in Sci-Fi-Quality-Inflation and a healthy error-margin and they come out about the same. The one line I remember from TOS was when Galactica finds another Battlestar run by Kirk Douglas, who comes in to attack a fleet of Cylon Fighters who are already attacking Galactica. One of the cylon pilots looks out it's side window and says in typical Cylon monotone 'What about the other Battlestar' to which the reply 'What other Battlestar' had me in stitches. Ahh, it's always the simple things....... Could you imagine the new series also finding another Battlestar? That would make for some fun! Lukeyson
  14. Mind you, having said all that, 'The return of Starbuck' was pretty much the only episode that anyone ever remembers from that season. Lukeyson
  15. Yes, the BSG 1980 series is considered by most if not all to NOT be canon. 'The Return of Starbuck' episode was pretty much a parallel of the movie 'Enemy Mine' and a couple of Star Trek episodes. Starbuck ended up boinked some mystic woman, and yes, the child somehow found it's way back to Galactica. The BSG 1980 series was terrible. It retained all of the bad qualities of the original series, but somehow lost everything that was good as well. Lukeyson
  16. Well, I use the downloads as a sampler to determine if I will buy. For example, after watching Firefly and Tom Hanks 'From the Earth to the Moon', I pretty much made my mind up that I would buy them. Without the ability to download and preview, I wouldn't have bought them. But it works both ways. Shows like Andromeda and Tripping the Rift don't get shown in Australia. While in those cases I probably won't buy them, at least my decision is informed. Imagine having forked out over $215 for a season of Andromeda not knowing what it was like! A season might be worth say $60 to me (Like the original BSG DVD set at $80), but not $215 (AUD by the way). Lukeyson
  17. Well, I'm another vote in the positive. I kinda got into the attitude of the characters as they developed. The western way of at times saying a lot less than needed worked for me. I'm looking forward to more. Lukeyson
  18. There have been a couple of kids-scifi shows that have been showing early Saturday morning here in Australia. Thunderstone has just finished I believe, and I haven't caught the start of the current deep-space show to know what it is called. Thunderstone does need to be put in it's context. It is a kids show no doubt. It appears to have re-used a number of props from the Mad Max Thunderdome set, and in some ways is very formulaic and cliche. But I came to like that bald-headed bad guy, and some of the storylines weren't too bad - and in many ways might even confuse the target audience with their complexity. Which made it bit of fun for me at times. Given that this show isn't available in overseas markets, it would probably be worthwhile putting up at least the first season compressed down to 75MB or less sized episodes so that some interested parties might download a few eps and make their own judgement. Given a bit of time and if it is liked enough, there might be demand for 350M episodes in the future. Consider this a response in the affirmative. People in overseas markets wouldn't know one way or the other if the show is any good if they haven't seen it. I certainly think it warrants a trial run. Lukeyson
  19. Except, that this site hosts quite a bit of older hard-to-find-anywhere-else stuff that doesn't track the same attention as the new stuff. Sure, BSG is likely to be up on isohunt or one of the other, larger 'I don't care about getting caught' sites, and I'll probably go get it myself - being a fellow Aussie and all. Does that mean it should also be up on Niteshdw? Is this being discussed anywhere else here? Seems this far down there's not that much traffic. Lukeyson
  20. There has been an ongoing philosophy on this site, that in order to remain an ongoing, long term porposition, hat we have to stay out of the limelight. The latest Hitchiker movie and Star Wars EpIII were shunned on this website because of that. With recent moves to target new-release TV shows by the MPAA, that puts Niteshdw back square in the limelight again IF we choose to host torrents for those releases. I don't have the answer. If the consensus is that we should go with host torrents for BSGS2 new releases, then I'm fine with that. Perhaps Niteshdw himslef needs to have the last word on this. Lukeyson
  21. We've been avoiding new-release movies in order to keep the anti-piracy narc squad at bay. Should we avoid uploading BSG Series 2 torrents for the same reason? Lukeyson
  22. I'll actually throw in a second movement for Firefly. After years of growing up on the Morally Correct diet of gene Roddenbury (inlcuding ALL Star Trek runs and now Andromeda) it's good to get your hands dirty with some good old rake muckin. Lukeyson
  23. Followed closely by Inara and Kaylee from Firefly: Inara (Morena Baccarin): http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1072555/ Kaylee (Jewel Staite): http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0821612/ Lukeyson
  24. For me, it was Ashley Judd in those two episodes from TNG where she played Robin Lefler and Wesley Crusher managed to get onto her when he came back on board in Season 5. One of her first TV appearances for Ashley Judd as I recall - and to me was absolutely stunning. And now for some links: http://www.memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Robin_Lefler Lukeyson
  25. The background sounds appear to be all low Hz stuff. My subwoofer was rattling my walls even after I turned it down all through the dialogue sequences. Lukeyson
