god, there are more than a handful times in TNG episodes where troi call riker (or vice versa) "imzadi"

louise flecher won an oscar with her performance in "one flew over..." she is a great actress. imho, the best players in star treks were: stewart, spiner, picardo, shimerman, auberjonois, the guy who played rom, robinson, jeff combs and oh yes, jeri ryan. don't laugh, check out her performance in the episode which she becomes "the doctor"... the worst were brooks (i liked sisko but towards the end he was overacting), visitor (fakeheat) and garret wang. wes crusher is the bottom of course.

Have Federation or perhaps total Milky Way struggle in a desperate war against a new force, say sumthin combining all the worst things we had in the past with an indefinite power and then have Q do the trick; find Kirk and Spock somehow and bring them to the help of Picard, janeway and Sisko and all. This will put all TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY in the same soup. :P

Leadership is to make the decisions and taking the shot. And each leader can and have different ways to do these. Janeway has her own style and no matter what I approve or disapprove her things, I like her. At the end, she's a Star Trek captain... for me, the most fatal flaw of VYG is Chakotay, who IMO reflects none of the legendary qualities of his race and oh, his coupling with 7.

Kirk. With all coldness, calculations etc, Picard would prefer to stay behind the ruthless leader as someone like string-holding/pulling evil vizier.
