subspatial
Seagate has just released its woppping new hard drive..... 750 gigs Will this help anyone who has space issues? Amnot Borg
It depends on what you are doing with your computer. I'm usually alright with 200GB or less. .....it could be nice to have more space.
Tenebrae
It depends on your modus operandi. I've a friend who just hoardes. He's upto about 1.2TB at the moment. That sounds pretty sweet though. I mean, the speed and sound levels both seem rather reasonable. It would be nice to think that if I wait long enough I'll be able to pickup a laptop with a solid TB of storage. Megalith
Simple answer will be full by next week. Seems to me no matter how much space you get you can put something on to fill it up i seriously now believe that if i had a 1,000 TB HDD i would fill it with stuff

TetsuoShima
wow 750 gig in a week... I would certainly not want to backup that... 750/4.37=172 DVD's. It does make a cool feat possible though, put 2 of them in you computer and you can say: I have 1.5TB of storage space, that would have been unthinkable 5 yeasr ago.... ah, technology... :)

Strange as it may sound - I have never, ever backed up my drives. Need all the room I have for AVI files ;) and need my DVDs for my transcoded ;) material... c4 B)

Perhaps. :( Hard drives do wear out. No Backups = Nothing safe. :stare: Backups are peace of mind for the anxiety prone or collection crazy. :D

Rebellion
My laptop only got like 40 gigs of space, luckily i have two other computers, one of which i use sort of like a fileserver. which saves me the trouble of an external HDD :D

Tenebrae
HDDs are like roads - the more capacity there is, the more usage. The more HDDs you buy, the more HDDs you fill.
TetsuoShima
You know, I just took my calculator and you know what, in the end only about 690 GB of 'real' space is on the drive. Still pretty huge, but not as impressive as 750...
