GhostShadow
Ok, Iran is asking to get attacked...... I hope Isreal messes them up good. Jew Badge and Non-Musilm Dress code This is dangerous b/c Isreal stated that after WWII any country that forced Jews to wear that badge agian would be attacked with Deadly force.... Isreal is America's Ally. I hope America does not go to war with Iran over this just b/c Isreal might. what do you all think?
quosego
I agree, that's sick..... WTF are they thinking..... they aren't the most popular people around.... Even Bush wouldn't be as stupid to pull something like that. Dman, I'm almost starting to agree with you on this Ghostshadow, :)

GorunNova
This IS a rather noticeable shadow of the armbands that Jews had to wear in Nazi-controlled territory in WW2... except that instead of being focused only on Jews, it's broadened to inclued ALL non-Muslims (and even Muslims, if you count their dress code). I wonder if they have badges for other religions, or even atheists... "All the better to round up the heathen and slaughter them, my dear." S0V13T
Right, write this date down on your callender everyone, this is one of the very rare occasions where I totally agree with GhostShadow. Iran is walking down the same ath as the national Socialists did back in the 30's, if you ask me. Hopefully, Isreal will remember history as well as we do in the free world, and nip this anti-sematisim right in the bud.
GorunNova
Correction... anti-non-Muslimism, as they're flagging and marking everyone who's not Muslim. Whereas the Nazis scapegoated Jews, Iran seems to be heading for scapegoating EVERYONE who isn't Muslim. ... but that's only a technical correction, as we all know who they'll focus on first even if they plan on 'dealing with' all the non-Muslims. With any luck, some sanity will appear and that move'll be cancelled by the 'Supreme Guide'. ;p
GhostShadow
All i can really say is that this is some real sick shjt.... If this does lead to a war, other super powers will be dragged in like the world wars of past. This can get real ugly and real bloody real fast.... My friend in the ARMY is being swiched to Airborn now. Alot of American Troopers are now swiching to airborn incase war does break out. There was an Unoffical document handed around the ranks that my friend told me about, that the united states military is now pumping up its training for an Invasion of Iran. My friend told me that "right now the standing orders for all troops is deployment to Iraq, but it could soon change to Iran..." My friends name is Tom and i would thank you all to say a prayer for him.. he will leave for Iraq in November.
TetsuoShima
This is an awfull plan, though it appears it still only is a plan... Maybe they want to use it as leverage or something foolish like that... Anyway, I'd leave the country as fast as possible if I were not a Muslim... Only question would be, where should I go, though, if this law passes, then I doubt any western country will create much fuss about Iranian non-muslim refugees... I do wonder though, they talk about Christians, Jews and Zoroastrians... But what about the Bhudists, Hindus, atheists or agnosticists... If they need a color for every religion/non-religion, they're gonna run out of colours really fast... :D Anyway: stupid, foolish, awful, abhorrent plan. I hope it won't get approved... But I wouldn't go to war over it either... (would sound to much as crusades (given the subject) and then all sh|t might break loose in the middle east, not something we want I presume)

Hilander72
I've never heard about theage and couldn't find any other source to verify, but a report like this will make headliners all over the world. If it's true... :(

MrDad
Don't be so quick to jump to conclusions. Canada's National Post on Friday reported the draft bill approved last week would force Jews, Christians and other religious minorities such as Zoroastrians to wear colour-coded clothes to distinguish them from Muslims. A copy of the bill obtained by Reuters contained no such references. Reuters correspondents who followed the dress code session in parliament as it was broadcast on state radio heard no discussion of proscriptions for religious minorities. http://in.today.reuters.com/news/newsArticle.aspx?type=worldNews&storyID=2006-05-21T190011Z_01_NOOTR_RTRJONC_0_India-250326-1.xml&archived=False

GorunNova
Hmmm... yeah. The fact that it also popped up in the National Post and damned near no other national Canadian paper says a lot in and of itself... This thing's starting to ring up 'hoax'... Antipodean
Interesting, isn't it... all this drumming up of aggression towards Iran... ? hmmmm Methinks I hear the distant sound of war drums a bangin. GhostShadow
dude, go to google and type in "Iran Badge" and you will get dozens.... I dont think that this is a hoax.... Iran is crazt enough to do something this stupid. This only happend like a few days ago so give it time to hit the "real" head lines. Think about it, every one has been trying to make Iran look innocent and America look all evil and news papers have been spending alot of ink painting America as a tyrant, and if this is true they will have to point the fingure some where else... and the media is not so qucik to apologize. Antipodean
Mate, look at the link to the Reuters peice in Mr Dad's post. Iran's Jewish MP Moris Motamed also agreed the bill made no attempt to force special garments on the minorities."There is no single word in the bill about a special design or colour for the religious minority groups" And GhostShadow, what on earth do you mean "every one has been trying to make Iran look innocent and America look all evil and news papers have been spending alot of ink painting America as a tyrant".... Come on - its the other way around. As you said yourself - there's already heaps of peices out there already dissing Iran on this, when the fact is, it already appears to be a hoax. TetsuoShima
Just wait a few days maybe, so we can hear from different sources what is really going on... Before going for each others throats... (in a manner of speaking of course) ;)
Antipodean
Well, I believe that Iran, while being a state that is openly and patently anti-zionist (ie they don't believe Israel should exist), is bound by virtue of it's being an Islamic Republic, to follow the precepts of the Koran that Christians and Jews are "brothers of the book" and as such should be treated with tolerance. Of course, just as with any religion or any other place, zealots and politicians may be entirely capable of distorting or ignoring this precept in Iran, but honestly... I don't think it's likely in this instance, with the whole badge thing. Now, on the other hand, being Bahá'àin Iran, can be very hazardous to ones health indeed (over 200 believers were executed between 1978 and 1998).
