MrDad
Rumour has it that special forces teams in Afghanistan are already using this groundbreaking assault weapon in action, another even more startling revelation was released last Thursday after a combined raid on an insurgent stronghold, reportedly a local villager shot film of what appears to be depleted uranium flechette mortar rounds fired from the assault rifle and several of the casualties suffered from severe radiation poisoning. http://www.defensereview.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=741 There is nothing mentioned in the article about any depleted uranium rounds used in this rifle nor any mention of an Afghan incident. DU is used as a penetrator in antiarmor weapons, not antipersonnel weapons. Also, DU is weakly radioactive and will not cause severe radiation poisoning. The main concern is chemical toxicity from DU dust exposure in wrecks and buried projectiles leaching into the environment. Do me a favor and cite a link concerning your statement, as I consider the veracity of it suspect.
