maybrick
All Time Lords are from Gallifrey. But are all Gallifreyans Timelords?
Amnot Borg
I have always assumed so, but who knows? :?:
TFMF
That's an interesting question. We saw the Master look into the Time Vortex when he was a child - was that sort of 'turning him into' a Timelord? But that does suggest that not everyone is a Timelord.
Megalith
Simple answer No. not all gallifreyans were time lords. I'll give more concrete examples a lil later but some are admin, some are security and some exist outside the city who have rejected Gallifreyan society entirely. just like any civilization it takes all kinds. Dark Knight
i will have to disagree on that. timelords are a race. there might be another race on gallifery. the timelords are a race. tbh i have only seen the new doctor who.
TFMF
Hmmmm, no. Timelords as a race doesn't quite seem right. I believe the Doctor has said he's Gallifreyan. A Timelord is more of a title. Can't be sure though...
USWhoFan
Although I have no cannon to back me up, but I'd have to say it's similar to the way you look at Bourbon: All Bourbon's are whiskey but not all whiskey's are Bourbon, Just like... All Timelord's are Gallifreyan but not all Gallifreyan's are Timelord's.
Amnot Borg
logical. all grapes are fruits but not all fruits are grapes, or apples, or oranges, or bananas. Timelords are Gallifreyans but not all Gallifreyans have to be Timelords.
TFMF
This makes me wonder: can Gallifreyan's regenerate? Or is it just a TimeLord's power?
Dark Knight
if he is the last timelord, why dont he just get some galliferians and make them timelords? they never said he was the last galliferian. so logically then he can go and find his race and make them timelords. Amnot Borg
I think he did say Gallifrey was destroyed in the Time war. That means only Gallifreyans who were off-world would be possible Time Lords.

trebor
Although I have no cannon to back me up "The Invasion of Time" (4th Doctor) pretty much backs you up. :)
USWhoFan
Although I have no cannon to back me up "The Invasion of Time" (4th Doctor) pretty much backs you up. :) Thanks! I'll have to watch that one again as a refresher.
trebor
I recently watched my new anniversary edition of the Five Doctors and in one of the documentaries (extras) they show a scene from "Arc of Infinity" where the Castelan tells a guard named Maxil (played by no less than Colin Baker) that he can consider himself lucky that it's not every day that someone gets the chance to kill a "TimeLord" (aluding to the fact that Maxil isn't a Timelord). And if I remember correctly, Colin Baker does shoot Peter Davison in that episode (I guess he couldn't wait to take over the role!) haha
