I got a USB to IDE/SATA adapter cable the other week to connect to some old HDD's i had lying around and at the time i was using a pc.. Windows xp didn't need any drivers because its awesome, but now i have a mac and it requires drivers to use it. The pack came with drivers for mac, but to my surprise they are out of date because they were designed for the 'classic environment'. Is there anyway i can get a new driver or get around that fact that this driver is out of date?

Its called the "Gene USB IDE driver" if it helps at all.

thnx!

I found this using google. not sure if it helps you at all.

Mac8.6 or higher: Copy Gene USB SATA/IDE_05E3_0702.sit to desktop and double click it to get driver file. Then copy the driver to [system Folder] [extensions]. After that, connect cable to computer and reboot the system.

Yeah thats what I've got. It comes with that in the instructions. Its just that the 'driver file' is packed in a 'classic installer' app. and there from what i read no longer valid. i think what i need is an updated driver from the net somewhere.
