The film comes on the heels of a novel, "Metal Storm," about a war between Turkey and the U.S., which has been a best-seller for months.

"The scenario is great," Istanbul Mayor Kadir Topbas told The Associated Press after the film was shown at a posh opening gala Tuesday night. "It was very successful."

The movie's American stars are Billy Zane, who plays a self-professed "peacekeeper sent by God," and Gary Busey as the Jewish-American doctor.

In the movie, one of the Turkish special forces officers commits suicide to save his honor. His farewell letter reaches Polat Alemdar, an elite Turkish intelligence officer who travels to northern Iraq with a small group of men to avenge the humiliation.

There they find a rogue group of U.S. soldiers led by officer Sam William Marshall - played by Zane. In the bloodfest that ensues, the small band of Turks bonds with the people of Iraq and eventually ends American atrocities there, killing Zane and his men in the final scene.

I always thought that the word tyranny is used when the land/place is forcefully taken and people cant escape the tyrant but this is not the case here..

This is circular reasoning. You are concluding that the reason we have them is that they are necessary, and the reason they must be necessary is that we have them.

 

Not at all. I was referring that there was a time when they were not present and when the situation progressed that moding was needed, it was introduced. If everything would be peachy all the time, we would still be without them, belive me. But alas.. We dont have mods around becose someone thought it was "cute" to have them :p

Have to warn you though' date=' Matrox is not the cheapest brand out there, they mostly specialise in professional high quality 2d equipment.

Oh, yeah, I have Matrox and it was not cheap - but it works like a charm and it is the best for 2d graphics, if you need that (and I do).

Like GlaC I saw Voyager first andi I always come back to Voyager as my favorite. As netshark puts it nicely, I liked "freedom due to independence of the Federation". I like DS9 too - very close behind on my list. The story arcs were just great in later seasons :)

I belive tribbles are to blame for prominent Klingon foreheads! Too many headaches over tribbles can do that to a Klingon race ;)
