  1. 25 years ago, I thought that we would be on a hydrogen economy by now. Nuclear fusion reactors would be used for electricity and only use oil for plastics & lubrication. Then the wrong people gain power and research into the technologies that could elevate us is replaced with policies to stymie those innovations and support the continued use of oil to line the pockets of thier backers. Enough venting, I think things will get worse before they get better.
  2. The original show was geared towards children too much to interest me. The new series is far superior to the original in every aspect. You never saw Lorne Greene beat anyone to death with a flashlight.
  3. I loved the books. The TV series was very good. It had the right mix of cheesieness (Zaphod's second head) and a lack of pretense to make it very funny. My favorite was the original radio series. I thought the sound effects really put it over the top.
  4. That is why there are so many "reality" shows. The production costs are very low, virtually no cost for tallent, ect, and with a little hype, they gererate more income (advertising revenues) providing a higher Rate of Return on the investment than something that requires actual writing acting, sets, props, and the works.
  5. Yes, I don't know if it is SciFi but it looks pretty Bad-Ass!
  6. Wow that's all new to me, when I was a kid we had I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, I don't recall any cartoons back then, old black & white TV that got 6 stations, oh ya there were only 6 stations......sigh When I was a youngster in the mid 1960's there were several B&W SciFi cartoons Geared towards children, Eighth Man, Astro Boy and Gigantor. The shows that were mentioned I recognized from my little brothers watching them in the 1970's & 1980's
  7. Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein' is one of my favorites. I found it entertaining and thought provoking.
  8. That was twenty years later on a different network.
