Still... it's neat, but looks a little overly graphically intensive. ^^'  <- knows where everything on his system is, and uses a nice text-based file manager for the most part... so this would be a little useless for me.  It does seem nicer than the whole Windows desktop thing, though.

You mean parallel universe, right?  Parallax = optical effect when looking at 3D objects and scenes from different angles. ^^'

I still think it was probably a race that the earlier Time Lords removed from time, hence their being forgotten except as children's tales.  Either that... or it could explain who really lives in Utopia (they were talking about 'the coming darkness'... end of the universe?).  That would, at least, explain the Master's comment about Utopia last episode.

Hmmm... maybe the Time Lords erased them from history, and the Paradox Machine was used to let them come back?  It wouldn't have been the first time the Time Lords 'got rid of' a species they didn't like very much / thought were too dangerous.

You won't have much luck, given that dubbed anime = licensed anime / DVD rip = illegal to download.

To be honest, I think they have their place.  Nothing expresses raw emotion quickly quite like a good swear word.  They help get negative feelings out of one's system.

Still, they're more of a spoken thing than a written thing, imho.  Written swears just don't have the same effect.

Utopia was definitely a MacGuffin.  They could have run ANY plot and have the end result be the reawakening of the Master... as that was the real goal of that story, the whole Utopia thread was actually rather unnecessary.  To refer to another MacGuffin driven story (in this case, the movie Ronin), Utopia was the case.  It doesn't matter where or what Utopia was... the real story was in how trying to get to Utopia resulted in the Master getting reborn.

I have to agree with Antilles... the explanation for the Master being alive and able to regenerate is in the next episode.

As for the immortality... Rose locked him in place.  No aging, no dying... just there, forever, a product of profound messing around with time that even the Doctor is disturbed by.

If he IS a 'new' companion, though... the Tardis rejected him before, so what'll happen when the Doctor gets it back and fixes it?

As for the Master's fearful retreat... well, that would make him regret missing the mutual annihilation all the more, right? XD

Ummm... the Master stated why he wanted the Doctor's genetic data... to use against the Doctor, in this case with that 'aging beam'.  There's a reason why the genetic data of the Time Lords was so closely guarded even in the old series.

Meh... as for Simms being a good Master, I'm still uncertain about that.  He just doesn't have that natural menace, and obviously cares more for destruction for it's own sake than for control over anything at all.  The Master wanted to be just that... Master.  This Master couldn't care less about leadership.  His motives for this whole thing seems to be just to see humanity die for it's own sake... maybe to make up for his missing out on the ultimate destruction of the Daleks and Time Lords?

Then again, it could also be a nice underlining of what time and the Time War have done to both the Doctor and the Master... they've been changed, the Doctor tarnished and the Master made psychotically homicidal instead of megalomanical.

There are already DirectX 10 wrappers in the works (the most notable commercial one being the one by Falling Leaf Systems.  DirectX 10 games will be playable in XP whether Microsoft wants them to or not.

Master regeneration.... just before the Master got in the tardis the Master said if the doctor did it so can i. Presumably he was talking about regrowing the hand which is not regeneration in the normal sense, its a cellular regeneration and not a total regeneration. It's possible timelords could undergo an infinate amount of these cellular regenerations provided of course they have access to the tardis.

Ummm... no.  The only reason the Doctor regrew his was because it was still within 24 hours of his regeneration (as stated in that XMas special with the blood control thing.)  What the Master did seemed to be a bonafide full regeneration at the end of an incarnation's life... meaning the Master either got a new Timelord body (maybe via that biology rewriting watch thing or something) or other self modification / trickery.  The Master IS a master of survival, after all.  If there was a way to do it, he would be the one to find it. ^^

On the other hand, maybe some of that 'regeneration energy' was still in that hand, and the Master used it to trigger his own regeneration?

If my home colonies had been decimated by evil robots, and I was forced to run through space for years looking for a mythical place of refuge, I'd be a hard drinker too. XD

It would seem that 'Utopia' was a MacGuffin... the mysterious place that's only purpose is to drive the story and is otherwise utterly unimportant. ^^

My question... what about the Master's Tardis?  Something tells me that the Master would have made sure it was somewhere accessible to him.

Anyways, I was actually thinking it was some sort of future Doctor until we heard the voice in the watch.  As for the drumming... it was probably some remnant of the Master buried deep within him, trying to get out.

As for the actor playing the Master... well, I'm not so keen on him in a Master-style role, but he has plenty of time next episode to prove my first impression wrong. ^^

Also... that was NOT a normal regeneration.  Then again, given the Master was running around in a -human- body by the end of the original series, what's he doing now as a Time Lord?  Maybe in desperation during the Time War, the Time Lords gave him a new body and set of regenerations?  He definitely seems like the sort of guy who would do bad things to enemies on the battlefield...  I'm wondering, though, if they'll even bother to explain it.

Oh yeah and dont forget he tricked the romulans in to joining the dominon war

Correction... Garek manipulated things so that the Romulans would join the war. Sisko was involved, but Garek did the actual job. ^^

Remember... it's the whole wibbly-wobbly thing! XD  Lots of wibbly wobblies intersecting at varying points along their length, and in this case the Doctor's wibbly wobbly is backwards when compared to Sally's wibbly wobbly... but not looped!

From what the Doctor said, an actual loop would result in a big nasty explosion, hence why they all avoided such loops.

Heh... I think that now that there are no more Time Lords to manage all the nasties in the time line, it's up to the Doctor to do their job, maintain the various prisons, and stop the various 'jail breaks'.

Also, the biggest indicators that it's not a loop are that everybody only goes through it once, and nobody's own personal timeline crosses itself directly.

It's only a time loop if it's not resolved in a linear fashion.

Doctor gets packet from Sally -> gets trapped in the 60's -> leaves messages for Sally -> Sally finds house -> Sally gets messages -> Situation resolved -> Sally gives Doctor packet.

... it's a linear stream of events from everybody's perspective, it's just that the Doctor's linear stream isn't parallel to Sally's linear stream.  The script was simply a result of how those two linear streams interacted.

As for not being able to return the victims to the future... it may be something that the angels do to their victims that prevent them from being able to return to their own time.  Something about the angel's power also makes the victim's arrival in the past... consistent?  Not a good feeding method if it results in messing up one's own existence through paradox.

Edit: Scratch that last bit... he couldn't return 'em because their living in the past was necessary for the whole business to be resolved... it already happened, so it had to happen that way.

Actually... that rather suggests that it's only command officers that go to Starfleet Academy, while the 'average crewmen' have ... lesser training?

That happened even in the old series, although there was a switch the Doctor could use to disable 'internal orientation' or something like that (i.e. so the innards of the TARDIS would be upright even when the TARDIS itself was sideways).
