What? No talk about the Heroes scandle? Apparently viewers are going to get an even bigger surprise when Heroes returns in January- Claire's friend Zach is NOT gay! Although it was never said outright that he was, he was clearly written and marketed as such. Even the show's creator, Tim Kring, has confirmed that that was his intent for the character. This sudden change has made many of the shows gay fans disgruntled. There's an interesting article about the controversy HERE that indicates that creator Tim Kring was pressured by "outside sources" to make changes to the character. TV Guide's Michael Ausiello had this to say- And more from Ask Ausiello I'm intrigued to see what Kring comes up with. "Making" him straight doesn't bother me too much because, in the grand scheme of the show, Zach has pretty much been a minor character. I'm still going to watch the show. The change just makes his back-story seem a little out of place in a show where the other characters are all so well written. Without him being gay, I just don't see him identifying as much with Claire being "different". Or him being ok with just being friends.

Whoo Hoo! Great season finale! Good thing it's coming back next year. I won't spoil for those who haven't seen it yet.

ABC Family is having and all-day Kyle XY marathon tomorrow. They are showing all previous nine episodes before airing the season finale.

I thought "Earshot" was pretty good though it probably wouldn't make it into my top ten.

No great extras on the DVDs. There are some deleted scenes and a short behind-the-scenes featuring interviews with the cast and crew, but no commentaries, nothing about a second season storyline. Bummer. :(

Do I think that Buffy and Angel classify as SciFi? Not really. But I LOVE them both and would be happy to discuss them here. I am a bit of a Whedonverse fanatic. (I have all 7 seasons of Buffy, all 5 of Angel, and the only season of Firefly on DVD) Joss can do no wrong in my book. "Once More, With Feeling" is my all time favorite episode.

When I first saw the previews for Kyle XY, I thought, "Oh, that looks interesting. Maybe I'll give that a watch," then I totally forgot all about it. Next thing I know my parents (yes, my parents) are telling me about this new show they are watching and how good it is. Thankfully, ABC Family has the episode available to watch on their website. I watched the two episodes I had missed, and I've been watching since. I think it took about 4 or so episodes to get me hooked. I can't believe that next week is the season finale, but at least it has already been renewed for a second season.

Got my DVDs in the mail today. Hopefully some of the bonus features will give insight to what would have happened if we got to have a second season.

My advice, skip all of the celluloid Dune versions, and just read the books. Or at least, read the books first. I've found all of the versions to be mediocre. Not all of that is the film makers' fault. The story is so complex that it's just hard to condense it down for the screen. I think the mini-series stuck closer to the actual storyline as presented in the books, but it was still lacking. The film version is worth a watch strictly for it's cheese appeal.

I thought it was a pretty decent season premiere. Some things I didn't like, but most of it I did. Overall, a good start to the new season.

Earth² ran a complete season (22 episodes) on NBC during the 1994-1995 season. It did end on a cliff hanger, mainly due to Debrah Farentino, who played the lead character Devon Adair, being pregnant. There actually was a proposed 2nd season planned, but network execs were unhappy with the show's low ratings. They fired the old producer and brought in a new one. I have purchased the Original Trilogy six times. Yes, six times- MANY years ago when it was first released on VHS, back in the mid 90's when it was remastered, the special edition, the wide-screen special edition, VideoCD SE edition all the way from Malaysia, and finally the SE DVD edition. I'm sure I will buy this version too. But that's it. I'm done. Really. Well... at least until the next big media format change. :rolleyes:

Invasion had its season finale last night. Looks like it is also its series finale as ABC has cancelled it. Bummer since it too ended on a cliffhanger.

Well, it's over kids. According to NBC's new fall lineup, Surface will NOT be returning. Bummer.
