I predict the future will be energy scarce
Ressurrector replied to theaveng's topic in Modern Science
I don't think this will be an issue as long as the world becomes less corporate in its thinking about trying to "make a buck" on every little thing. The ultimate power source is the ether or subspace. A scientist named Tom Beardon is already workin on a way to extract energy from the vacuum sea particles. Tesla wanted to provide the world with free energy but hey there is no money in that and westinghouse wouldn't fund his project dealing with that. And we all have heard about the 300 mile per gallon carburator whose inventor was quickly silenced. There is already a device called the "Z-machine" which can release 290 terrawatts of power for only a milisecond but if that was coupled to a superconductor could mean constant output. -
For the next series 2 things/concepts comes to mind. 1. A klingon series OR 2.Temporal Cold War from enterprise but be based in daniels time and maybe cast him as a lead character. With number 1 I think it would be interesting to see life entirely from a klingon point of view in a warrior all guns blazing type of approach. With number 2 I think this would be the best honestly. With time travel being a big issue in this show the possibilities would be endless!! like all the best trek series roled into one and the possibility to interconnect between them all and thus bring back ANY character. And not to mention..TECHNOLOGY!! Thats been a major reason people love trek I think and in order to impress people the way STNG did it must be revolutionary. Time travel could be a common element along with ships that use something even better then warp drive say a wormhole or temporal conduit generator or something. And medicine far better than in any trek show yet. Oh well just my 2 cents worth.

Good editing work on the pic. And if you looked at picard with that look everytime he spoke to you I bet you would be thrown in the brig. LOL Or sent to Troy very frequently (might not be a bad thing).

Russian Inventor Patents Invisibility Cloak
Ressurrector replied to Carnifex's topic in Modern Science
Excellent point. But maybe then you would need to use thermal vision like the predator B) -
Very interesting article. Maybe when the ship went to a higher 2d space for FTL travel it would also eliminate the risk of crashing into stray asteroids and such, I guess you would pass right through them. And prolly would serve as a cloaking device as well while you were in warp. Well maybe at least to the naked eye.

Alot of people don't even wanna accept this could be real but the reason for such thinking is the physics thats in place today. Not the electrical science that Maxwell and Faraday were using. Einstein believed in the space time grid and not in the "ether" or subspace as trek would call it. Tesla believed in the "ether" but not the space time matrix. Einstein did believe in a unified field theory which could combine electricity, magnetism, and gravity into a single equation. If you wanna be technical a "warp" drive was conceived and tested by an inventor named Thomas Townsend Brown I think in the 50's. Some believed Browns device flew by product of ion wind but supposedly when placed in a vacuum it still worked. though very smaller and simpler his device has been called a warp drive by some. You hear alot here lately about the russian scientist podkletnov who spinned super conductor disc and reduced gravity by a few percent in a beam that extended directly above his device. And then there is the supposedly super secret lockheed craft the "TR-3B" Which rotates hot mercury plasma in a torroid creating a magnetic field so strong that it cancels about 95 pecent of the earth's gravity. Which actually works very similiar tot he Natzi Bell device of WWII. I have read tons of anti-gravity books and literature but I find one thing interesting and that is almost all gravitational device theories involve spinning something. Doesn't seem to matter if your spinning electrons , magnets ,gyroscopes, etc. If gravity is just relative to mass then you would think there would be no way of cheating it. But maybe through rotation and different rpm speeds you could create a disturbance in the ether much bigger than that of a stationary mass or magnetic field.

I still don't understand why minidisc couldn't make it. I am betting storage capacity was the main factor but the fact the disc itself was enclosed in square plastic exoskeleton shielded from scratches i would think that would be superior to a typical cd for lifespan. But hey where's the money in a music minidisc that last basically forever with rugged use vs a cd in your car for just a few weeks of layin it here or there. hehe I would like to know what happened to the company called "digiscents" that supposedly invented a real smellovision device. There was all kind of hoopla about it on tech tv several years back now you hear nothing.

Sad , sad news. Its getting harder everyday to exchange ANY file online. Msn messenger has already taken steps to try and filter out piracy and blacklisted many major file types such as exe and mp3. As a music artist I must say that you can and WILL lose money to piracy. Even the little guys. I am still basically nobody in music but have a small online following and yet still there are dozens of people bootlegging my album on soulseek. But honestly I ain't gonna be like metallica and cry a river over it. Mp3 has in fact helped me alot more then it ever hurt me and allowed me to collaborate with other artist around the world that otherwise wouldn't have been possible and also gave me an outlet to give away free songs over the internet. But I wonder wtf paramount is thinking? If they didn't charge so damn much for a single season of trek on dvd I bet most people might actually go out and buy them. Torrent network is an alright thing but personally I hate the speed. I would honestly spend prolly up to 50 bucks for a good dvd season of trek, but I won't spend 100 for one season. I hear they just lowered the prices on "some" seasons. Why not all? LOL But ya know what's funny is I think if years ago if the MPAA and the RIAA got together and applied there legal muscle like there currently doing when mp3 or mp2 even was in its infancy and people didn't even take it seriously they might have actually gotten their wish and stopped that technology from ever appearing. They have waited to late now. The public is spoiled and will fight back. But what you think happened to the 300 mile per gallon carbeurator? Or the firestorm sparkplugs? Control...... Well enough ranting. hehe

That would be very good. Those kids that are doing the BC mods over at BCfiles are sorta doing that but they are kinda confined in the limits of the BC engine. I wish I could do that but just don't know enough about 3-D modeling programs and programming in general.

I am just wondering if this ship is something someone made up or if its from a book or something, voyager perhaps? haven't seen all that series. Its included in an online mod for bridge commander that basically gives all the ships of the late star trek universe. The ship is actually 3 ships combined in one and can separate at will. But let me tell ya. This has to be THE baddest ship the federation ever made. This thing has like heavy stength phasors(like a starbase) and can usually lock like three beams on you at a time from any angle and fires a barrage of like 4 quantum and 5 photon torpedoes at a time. Not to mention with 4 warp nacelless it looks very menacing. Most ships can be taken out in seconds with it.

Don't have a clue who the time meddler was but did always find it rather interesting that archer looked exactly like him when he stood in the time portal. And I thought that thing could only send messages. WTF?

1. Picard Everything about stewarts role screamed captain. 2.Kirk Kirk's rebellious side was awesome..sometimes rules just have to be broken and don't get into a fight with this guy. Kirk was a pimp too. LOL Even master P wrote a song about him "Captain kirk can u save me?? Captain kirk I wanna have your baby.." LMAO 3.Archer To me his role was a diligent one like that of picard but did possess some brawling abilites like kirk though he did tend to get his ass kicked more. hehe But though Bakula made a great captain. 4.Sisco He was pretty cool but seemed a lil too "romantic" IMO hehe that and that really deep voice. He didn't take no shit though. 5.Janeway Something about her seemed really plain and boring to me. Don't hate her but not a big fan neither.
