  1. equality is a matter of perspective, in this case it was a matter of mutual respect, and cooperation, not technological/advancement equality, however they were ALL pretty advanced. for instance, the nox had a floating and cloaked city, the cloak may have been mental, but i doubt there were a bunch of nox holding the damn thing up, sure, that aint supertech in that universe, but still alot better then we have, and implies more, as it was 'nothing special'.

    Who is hottest?

still say lexa doig, and damn that shanking shanks guy that is married to her....lucky bastard.
  3. theaveq: jaime hubbard........i wonder if she is related to rob hubbard, that guy made some wicked music in ih day....
  4. mateya: well, if you have half a brain, you dont use such(copy protected media types that is, especialy since i dont like having rootkits on my computer, read up on the sony DRM...), and why use the 'music manager' in the first place? just show it as a USB disk space, and move the files to where they are supposed to be, should work just fine....i am still somewhat in shock with the music/game industry, that they just cant seem to understand that copy protection is IMPOSSIBLE, and as i have said before in other places, they will build a heisenberg compensator(key component in startrek transporters) before managing to create viable copy protection.
  5. well, my two cents on the matter is about time, that is a picture done in a VERY old style(or quite nicely photoshopped to look like it, or maybe even a recreation of that old technique), either way, if it is 'authentic' as in taken approx. around 1850 or so...well, the odds of tom paris being alive then points to highlander having some truth to it....but if it's a recreation, i find it likely it would be tom paris posing, as they look alike, but the picture quality just makes a positive identification impossible.
  6. mediaplayer 10? roll back to 9? are you insane? the thought of using ANY mediaplayer(of the microsoft series) after 6.4 gives me utter disgust, followed by reflexive termination of said program usualy followed by ALOT of work to REMOVE said program. as the beta version of 'linux mediaplayer' port, works alot better for video atleast...and just about any other 'media' aswell, but can be abit difficult to learn, as it's not graphical, and for music, the latest winamp rolled back to pre-bloatware and made it usable again.
  7. dampening fields' and 'disruption fields, used quite frequrently to block transporters, but yes, what's the point of going in with groundforces, unless they got something you want...if it's dominion troops down there? just blockade'em, and let the jem'hadar go cold turkey on white after a few weeks.

    Voyager...:(

bathori: the classic signs(and the fact that they pretty suddenly got a 'you are not going to get another season' message....) are there, change of pacing, and plenty of things left unresolved, so enterprise was also a victim to the 'off the air' disease that seems to be rather popular among the channel execs today.
  9. bats getting his training from ras al-ghoul? that's a good joke in itself....but still, somewhat plausible....and i like the general 'dark' feel, much more miller....and more miller is good, nicely done onn the 'backwork' on the creation of the persona, and equipment...but what you must understand, is that this is just the begining(as the title implies), there is a whole mental asylum worth of 'scare gassed' criminal loonies out there now(as in after the movie), and that kinda changes the stakes a little....alot of crazy criminals to chase. great movie.
  10. well, that #6 is the best one, is just a given....but saying 8/9(not to even mention 10) is better then 7? cant see it, true, i went through 8, and it was a good story, but i have never thought of giving it another run, 9?started, played awhile, got sick and frickin tired of the annoying characters, and left the game, never to return(that fat blob was the ocean that made cup spill over....not that it was not mostly full already, it was.), however 7....there is a game i have replayed a few times, usualy to try and find more 'secrets' as i dont rely on walkthroughs.....first time around, my 'main' char was aeris, she had been heavily reinforced with sources....and just dies!? (might add that her 4'th level limit break is so.....over powered.)....and on the 'physical/magical' dealio....well, true, you could optimize with magic....as i took out emerald weapon, without the underwater materia, hey 20 minutes is plenty of time to dish out 1.3 million hitpoints. W-summon + master summon(or another instance of knights of the round) - knights of the round + HP Absorb - counter(not counter attack) + mime - final attack + pheonix and some other materia for max hp/mp and stats(magic stat)....and you are immortal, dish out over 200k damage/attack, and regain 1/10th of that damage as hp....and every time someone hits you, counter with the last attack, which was a W-summon(dual) knights of the round, and get full hp, if by some chance you are one shot'd pheonix flame, resurects you. FF7, power gaming galore. and the story is not FORCED on you in it, like so many other such games, you have to actualy LOOK for it....if you dont read the books down in shinra mansion, you miss vital parts of clouds back story....etc. and as a side note, i dont consider FF games to be RPG's as there is no roleplaying involved, more like a interactive multiple choice movie. fallout series, and the elder scrolls games(although i dispised the latter, could not make myself like it) are the only rpg's i can remember right now.

    Who is hottest?

lexa doig(Dr Carolyn Lam SG-1 & Andromeda from the series with the same name....interesting that she is not the lead role, when her character is named the same as the show...), no question about it....and michael shanks(dr. jackson) is one lucky bastard, as he is married to her.

    Voyager...:(

just adding the fact that getting a sudden deadline, makes getting a decent ending....difficult, take a look at john doe, lovely story, nice characters, nice slow pacing, allowing for character development, and all that, and last two eps goes at warp ten. dark angel, same thing really....whole bunch of stuff left 'unresolved' as the last few eps the story goes at warp speed. they simply dont have enough time to tell the story....this was the case in enterprise, dont know about voyager though, although sounds like it(not seen S7 yet, so not sure) but the classic signs are drastic change in pacing, and 'unresolved issues'....as a side note, DS9 did it rather well, trying to tie it all off...impressive really.
  13. the transporter in question was recieve only(with a target lock aid device thingymajig), and in all honesty, the federation caught a bunch of lucky breaks(read semi divine intervention, in the form of wormhole aliens.), vegas odds would have been on dominion winning that war, as that transporter technology is almost useless in a 'war', infiltration on the other hand....
  14. no question, defiant. reasoning? simple, defiant is a warship, intrepid a long range science/survey vessel(admittedly abit heavily armed for such an endeavor, but still.) voyager got a almost 2 to 1 weight advantage, putting it in another weight class....but they got similar armament, with the amount of firepower in defiant favor, 'toughness', the defiant can take one hell of a beating, and still dish out damage....and although voyager can take a beating, the systems onboard are a little to vulnerable....defiant got edge in manuverability aswell...bottom line? defiant got the better cards, if all other things are equal(as in crew efficiency, and current state of damage...) defiant will win(not even counting any cloaking device, just a defiant). however, on the 'trip' back to the alpha quadrant, i'd prefer a intrepid class, as it has many other systems superior to defiant that are not directly combat related(better computers, sensors, higher sustainable warp speed, size, comfort, and space for workshops...as spare parts would be a premium commodity, etc.).
