Besides the name and a few superficial traits they are very different. The way i see it the new show is merely inspired by the old one and is not directly related to it. Any comparisons really dont do either show justice.

Actually the Pegasus entering the battle was not part of Adamas plan. Apollo disobeyed him and entered the battle despite having orders to the contrary. It was basically a suicide mission, as the chances for success were minimal but i guess Adama felt he had to try since he blamed himself for allowing the fleet to get complacent. Also in the original the fate of the Pegasus is indeed not clear but they did have images of battlestars blowing up from the destruction of the Presidents ship in the pilot. nd there was a Star Trek conversion in the making although i think it never materialized. I think the game was perfect for making a trek based mod. So if there is a Nexus 2 i hope it lives up to the first one and gets the recognition it deserves

Yeah this series is really good. I like the way they present the story. And that future /Hiro scene was great. Completely unexpected. At first after reading th discription this seemed like 4400 meets X-Men but i think it looks more like a variation of X-men right now. P.S Jericho also seems to be a great show, although its not related to sci-fi; at leat not yet.

What a start to the Season! The Colonials still have a lot of issues to work out among themselves. I'm wondering whats going to happen to all those that cooperated. I felt really sorry for Tigh and Starbuck. Will Eight find out about the baby?The Cylons also seem to be in quite a mess. Im curious how Boomer and Caprica Six will react now. Baltar also seems a different person now. What will happen to the baby? They opened up the season perfectly and there is a lot left that needs to be told so this loos like it will be a great season. p.s. how does the spoiler tag work?

Kyran you havent told us your complete specs for either system. There could be other components holding your system back. More importantly a synthetic bench is really not a relliable way to compare 2 cpus and a 1000 points in 3dmark is a huge difference actually. 3dmark actually being a gfx card benchmark is really poor at benching cpus. In any case there is simply no way the Pentium D is faster than a X2 4200. Pentium D's are not Intels new chips, the Core 2 Duo are (E6300,6400,6600,6700 and X6800). The E6600 and above are faster than any AMD cpu at the moment.
