TFMF, I think you have one of the most simplest avatars I have ever seen. Right to the point no frills, no mess. :) 10/10

HI all. Hope this is the correct place to post this request. I collect Trek Figural Mugs and was wondering if anyone here had a Picard they might like to part with. That would complement my collection nicely. Or if someone could point me in the direction of a store that might have one in stock, well that would be ducky :) I've been searching for quite a spell with no luck. Just got McCoy. That one I had to get from someone in the UK. Ebay is of no help so I thought I'd ask here. Kirk, Sisko and Janeway ( they didn't make an Archer) were no problem so I surmise that Picard is the most beloved Trek Captain of all.

So, they are going to mess with another classic (Escape from NY) by remaking it and they are not casting Kurt Russell!!! I don't know how you feel about that but (like Kurt) I feel he is the only one to play that part. He's not too old for a reprise. They're casting some British actor instead. The character is a true American icon (at least to fans of the movie). Can a British actor do the role justice?
Kurt's take on the situation:

Very good ep! Let's see where the story goes this season. BTW, when "fly man" was at some bar, he looked at the mirror and saw his face deformed for one sec (nuclear blast?). What was that all about?
Didn't someone have the power to "appear" as someone else? Maybe he is more like his brother and can absorb others powers as well. That's what I was thinking . Anyway, I love this show. Have the first season on DVD. Bout time they put something on the tube worthwhile.

Anyone catch the premier of the "Bionic Woman on NBC (USA)? I thought the original show was done kinda childish. The new incarnation goes the other way. Very dark. I'll have to watch a few more episodes to see where it goes.
Any thoughts?

How do you keep an idiot in suspense?
I'll tell you later >:D

On disc #4 now. This is a really cool series (so far). Right now (imo) it's the only thing worth watching on the idiot box.

According to star-trek-voyager.net (http://star-trek-voyager.net/ship4/ut.htm) "The Universal Translator is a highly sophisticated computer program, although the term "Universal Translator" is almost always also taken to mean the device which contains it".
"Apart from shipboard Universal Translators, by 2364 Starfleet personal communicator badges incorporated miniature Universal Translators (the badges are often known by the abbreviation "combadge") (The date is known from [TNG: Encounter at Farpoint], stardate 41153 and [TNG]'s first story, and the calendar year of [TNG]'s first season is established in [TNG: The Neutral Zone].)"
While this does not answer the poster's original question (one I have also ponderd from time to time - without finding an answer) I thought others may be interested in this bit of trivia.

It serves my needs well enough. Making *personal music CDs, DVDs, etc.
*strictly for home use I assure you. :p

Windoze for me. Serves my needs well enough I suppose. Maybe I'm addicted. Used to use Redhat at work but they canned it and switched back to Windoze. Bill gates is da devil.

Ditto on the beta. Damn memory hog as well!

Here in the US Amazon.com has Heroes/Season 1 starting @ $35.14 (for new and used copies) and the HD/DVD is going for $62.86 (OUCH!).
Anyway, I have a rant with the Season 1 DVD set. No "scene selection" button on the menus. I didn't realize it until I had to stop an episode in the middle to take a call. When I shut my DVD player off (my caller likes to gab so I knew I'd be a while) I figured I'd just cruise to the scene selection and pick up where I left off. No way. Had to FF to the point I stopped. For me, a major pain. Hate having to zip. Hate the zip. For all the bucks they're charging you'd think that would be given, no?
Besides that though, great frucking show man!

Firefly for me too.

Well I'm finally into season 9 and I've been pleasantly surprised. The "new", added cast members are good and The Ori should prove to be worthy opponents. Jack pops in from time to time (nice to see his face). I do believe I've enjoyed this series more than even Star Trek (GASP!). Nothing beats traveling by wormhole!

Done and done.
Yes, TFMF, thanks for the fix!
How long until the DL Manager is no more?

Unfortunately, I do. :(

I found a cool logon screen for Star Trek Voyager. I downloaded it then somehow lost the link. I thought I would upload and share.

I recommend that you watch the entire Heroes Season 1. You will be on the edge of your seat. It is awesome. I didn't start watching Heroes until about half way through the season. I caught up on it at nbc.com. You will also be able to rent it on Netflix fairly soon.
Thanks. It will be available on Amazon.com in 3 days for $36.99 with free shipping. Kinda pricey if ya ask me. I'll give it a few weeks, usually by then used copies are being listed. I've saved a lot of bread buying used.

Validation, smalidation I say! Why wait in line while the WGA nazis "check" you out.
Here's a direct download link for Microsoft Downloads Center WGA-Protected software.
BTW, this is a legit web site. No worries.

And does anyone no where I can find a full download of internet explorer that doesnt require internet connection unrelated issue.
Thankyou to whoever responds.
Try this link:
Enjoy!
edit- the link is for version 7

I totally agree, as it seems most here do. A sequel/remake with Kurt -OK, otherwise - NO!
You are right about Hugh Laury. He's great in House MD. I didn't even know he was a Brit until I watched his screen test for the role. I also agree that "Escape" is a classic.
