Who do I buy a PC from in the UK with out being ripped off?
weareborg replied to Chiggy's topic in Technology Chat
Where did you buy it from? -
I've only has WinFixer tracking cookies found by Spybot, and it gets rid of it. But i doubt he installed it willingly; if their using tracking cookies i guess theu migth have BHO's too (Browser Helper Opjects that redirect your browser without you knowing)

I'm getting one of those as soon as i can.

I see the same avatar which you have atached too. It may be stored in your temporary internet files, try clearing them, then load this page and press Ctrl + F5. This will refresh the page without taking it from your browser's cache.

New Blog replaces www.niteshdw.com
weareborg replied to NiteShdw's topic in (OLD) Announcements & Feedback
Nite, i have come up with a solution. My blog uses Wordpress (http://wordpress.org/) a specialised blog program with many features. To install it you just download the files and upload them to your server. It's simple to use, and lets you make comments, moderate, make users wit different permissions etc. Works in all browsers and has many different themes. Check it out. -
They are VERY useful. If you get a virus etc you can just use the integrated virus scanner, not worry about scanners "not being able to delete the virus" because windows is running etc.

PS3 anyone? Why buy a Blu-Ray player when the PS3 will have one, and it'll cost half the price of Blu-ray players when they come on the market fully.

It's a boot CD that has loads of features if something goes wrong on your PC and it doesn't boot. Here's the link it's web page *CLICK* It has so many features, you'll have to read - the page goes on for ever. It's freely distributable, but he doesn't host it (I guess because of the server costs), it's just distrivuted on P2P networks. I managed to find V 7.4 on Mininova, here. But i can't seem to find the latest realease - 7.8. Anyone know where to get it?

If i were you, i'd completel Uninstall McAfee. It runs so much on start up that is not needed, and messes up the registry. Software from AOL, McAfee, and Norton all do this. A suggestion would be to download Avast. Just google "Avast" and click on the first one. You have to register for a free home licence, but it works amazingly well! And in an Anti-Virus award, it has beaten McAfee, Symantec Anti virus, and Norton. I've been using it for ages - its the best around.
