  1. I watched it......Several times, if you get my drift. ;) The only major thing about it they got wrong is that Warp Drive will be tested by the Air Force in 5 years or less. ......Knowing the Air Force, it's less. :stare:
  2. Thanks to everyone....... "Tis a far, far better place I go to....." - If you'll recall, this is from Search for Spock, and is fitting, IMHO. :(
  3. IRVIN EUGENE HELTON Son of german & romanian immigrants Hero of WW2 ......And my father. Died, approx. 11AM, this lords day, 2006 :(

    new trek?

OFFICIAL WORD FROM PARAMOUNT: "We have NO INTENTION of bringing back Star Trek" Paramount is under new management. This new management has ZERO INTEREST in bringing back Star Trek.
  6. Islamic Rule. Americans, and to a lesser extint, Europeans & Russia, abort their babies by the thousands. No babies, no way to field an army. No Army, no power. We all saw how easily Kosovo was taken over, and subsequently burned to the ground by Muslims, while Herr Clinton bombed the Serbs into the stone-age, and NATO forces sat on their hands & watched Kosovo burn. Thanks to abortion, America & Europe will soon be too weak to resist, and Muslims will take over, since they don't believe in abortion. Once all nations on Earth are Muslim, a world leader will arise. He will make a 7 year peace treaty with Israel, then break it after 3.5 years. Hopefully, I'll be retired on Mars when this occurs, if I'm alive at all. :stare: :stare: :stare:

    new trek?

Bill is right.....Star Trek is dead. I know there are alot of groups & people who insist it's just "resting", but that's not true. :( :( :(
  8. One story I can recall that stuck with me...... His ship (FF-51) had sustained heavy damage in one of the later campaigns in the Pacific. (It was well after Coarl Sea & Midway) The Japanese were throwing wave after wave of Kates & Vals at his carrier group, and his ship in particular. A near miss had caused the starbord side of the hull to buckle, and fires had broken out amid-ships. His "pod" (the area where his gun was) was near the flames. He & his loader had fired the gun so many times that in conjunction with the flames on board, the heat had bent the barrels. He had taken a break to man the water hose to keep the fire from getting to his ammo. About that time, a couple of kates were bearing down on his ship. Whether by accident, or divine intervention, he had swung the water hose on the barrels of his gun. The barrels bent back straight, and he was able to shoot down the kates before they sunk the ship. Thereafter, every time the barrels got too hot, he'd take a water hose to them. The reason I know this story is true is because he kept insisting that it was a "team effort". I know this is bull, because the "team" was busy putting out fires all over the ship! .....But that's the type of guy he is. :stare:

  10. I tried to get him to talk to Oliver North, so that his heroism would be documented, but he refused. He was a Silver Star & Bronze Star recipiant. :(
  11. I appreciate anything at this point....... :(
  12. As you now know, my father is in the hospital, and has been for several days. Unfortunately the dye test they took today showed he had 100% blockages in most of his arteries, so they are sending him to St Josef's in Lexington, Ky. He will arrive there sometime tommorrow. Those that wish to call or visit may do so. The prognosis is grim to impossible..... Ask for patient "Irvin Helton". For those of you who don't know, my father is a true hero. He served as a 40mm gunner on a fast frigate, as part of a destroyer screen. He fought in almost every major naval engagement, and witnessed first-hand the "divine wind" of Japan. The WW2 veterans are leaving us, and this may be your only chance to touch the past. I'm sure he'd appreciate a visit or a phone call of encouragement. .....Just tell him your a freind of his son's. :(
  13. "Strike the Infidel about the neck" ....Holy Koran Sounds pretty complete to me! :stare: :stare: :stare:

    new trek?

    Battlestar Galactica (Original Series) :)
  15. A New Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea Movie? So how about a new Voyage movie? There are a wide range of attitudes among Voyage fans about whether or not this is a good idea. What if the movie turned out really bad? What if it weren't true to the characters? What if it ended up being a bunch of CGI eye-candy and little else? .....More: http://www.vttbots.com/voyage_news.html
  16. My cat, Garfiled, lived to be a ripe old age of 25. .....He was constantly exposed to "second-hand" smoke, with no ill effects. If second-hand smoke was as dangerous as people claim, he'd have died quickly, since a cat's metabolism is much faster than ours. :stare: :stare: :stare: :stare:
  17. My uncle lives in Ohio.......They've apparently already went to wide-screen, because he called me to complain that "people's heads were chopped off". So, I wouldn't wait too long...... I myself need to upgrade to widescreen, so I'm saving back my pfennig. :stare: :stare: :stare:
  18. Nielson families tend to be of the "I Love Lucy" type. .....That's not a bad thing, until you realize that these types tend *not* to watch sci-fi. :(
