as arktis says: Hydrogen. About 75% of Earth is covered with water, including that in the ice caps, every water molecule has 2 hydrogen atoms, compared to one oxygen atom. Even the 21% of the athmosphere that is oxygen, is still not enough.

 

Also it would be a baaaaaad idea to suck oxygen out of the atmosphere.

 

I agree to that point of mining the moon, although if it's done slowly, it would give the moon orbit a chance of adjusting. (even though it moves 3cm away from us every year). If the mining operation goes too fast (which it definitely will because of all the greedy governments and companes here) Then an accident could lead to the sheer destruction of the moon. Also over-mining it, can be catastrophic, in this case the moon has nearly nothing to holdt it together, and it wil simply fall apart and spread out.

 

Also. We are adapted to the moon's presence. All the way through our evolution there has been a moon.

What would happan if it was gone?
