TetsuoShima
I found this: Do I need a Gmail address to log in to orkut or to get a Google Account? We do not require you to have a Gmail address to log in to orkut or to create a Google Account. If you don't have or want a Gmail account, you can still create a Google Account. A Google Account is made up of an email address and password of your choosing. However, if you already have or want a Gmail account, it comes with a built-in Google Account. You can use this to log in to orkut. I already have a Gmail Account. Is that the same thing as a Google Account? A Gmail Account comes with a built-in Google Account. If you already have a Gmail Account, just use your Gmail address and password to sign in to the Google services you use. ----------------------------- So, it would appear that anybody with a gmail, can use it without an extra invite... :)
