subspatial Posted June 21, 2006 Share Posted June 21, 2006 Those tech. nutters at IBM have broken the speed barrier again, but this time it is really cool. 500 gigs of processing speed, Thats a lot faster than my 3gig. The Herald said: "The researchers, using a cryogenic test station, achieved the speed milestone by "freezing" the chip to 451 degrees below zero Fahrenheit, or minus 268 degrees Celsius, using liquid helium......" But it's probably not available for up to two years, I think i can wait that long for another new computer.....
