TetsuoShima
Starting today (or yesterday not sure), gmail is an open service, meaning you don't need an invite anymore. you can just sign up on the gmail login page. So anyone wanting an account and not able to have gotten an invite earlier, now's your chance! :D
TFMF
I found the whole invite thing really silly. I have always used Hotmail anyway. I use it for MSN Messenger and it's a great email service.
Antilles
I like both GMail and Hotmail (which I only use for Live Messenger and Microsoft Groove). As for being Open, it stil says Beta when I log in to GMail and it still offers invites? Although I have noticed it does have a 'Sign Up' link now, why theyre still in beta after so many years is beyond me, Ive never had a problem with them in 3-4 years so Id say its safe to go Alpha finally! TetsuoShima
eeerrrr, alpha actually comes before beta release. ;D so it would be: alpha - beta - rc - final nearly all products in the google apps are beta btw, they keep calling them beta because they are continuously improving them by a fair amount. or so I rememerber having read somewhere sometime :D
