NiteShdw Posted May 2, 2005 Share Posted May 2, 2005 A little history: 2 months ago, the site was averaging about 15-18,000 hits per day (that's just the tracker, and only web pages, not 'announce' hits). 1 month ago, the tracker was getting about 20-25,000 hits per day. April started with nearly 30,000 hits per day, and now this last weekend broke over 55,000 hits in one day. The site is growing so fast, my DSL connection is nearly completely saturated just with the tracker (which makes playing Xbox really difficult), and the tracker computer (Athlon XP 2600+ 512MB RAM) is running upwards of 80% CPU usage (2 months ago it was about 25% CPU usage, last month it as about 50% CPU usage). I just had to spend $300 on a professional grade router capable of up to 10,000 concurrent connections. Right now, I'm averaging about 4,000 concurrent connections. So, it's good for the site, but it's beginning to require a lot more maintenance. What I really need is a better dedicated connection... but stupid iProvo! (they offer 10mb fiber line, but won't install it into apartment complexes without jumping through a bunch of hoops) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
