How come at the very end they changed the phrase Where no one has gone before back to Where no man has gone before? Kinda weird.

EDIT: I know it was said that way in TOS but they changed it for TNG...why go back?

c4

Because that was the first, and truly Roddenbery motto.

Besides it sounds cooler for some reason. Macho almost B)

I think they did it that way because enterprise was before TNG in the timeline so they would have had "man" instead of "one" in their motto

Hummmm...that's strange. They screwed up the timeline anyway so much and yet they pay so much detail to such a tiny thing. Go figure?!?

21 was the final episode in my opinion

22 was the first episode I had to fast forward just to get the dam thing over faster, I really disliked it that much, after 21 it seemed totally pointless

cool, it was also the first episode I fast forwarded to get to the end. i did go back to watch the part i fast forwrded but it was so uninteresting to watch Ryker and Troi, the chef and everyone just talking about nothing.

These were things they should have done in the earlier episodes to develop the characters. This like someone writting an essay in the last minute and then writting the thesis, examples, in the conclusion paragraph.

I think it is without a doubt the worst series finale i have seen.

Totally agree! Voyager's end was much better (IMHO).

Hey, BigDawgAMD...I responded to your pm.

I am a GR fan... Friday was a true evening of sorrow. Not only didn't both series (Enterprise and Andromeda) end up but both were absolutely the most stupidely written shows I ever saw.

What in heaven's name was this all about!?!

PLEASE!

The general theme was not a bad idea, the detatched perspective was a good idea for ending a show that's getting cut short, the holodeck idea created a clever sense of historical ambiguity and makes good of the whole prequel idea.

It kind of felt like the last episode of the fourth series of Babylon 5 which jumped about time periods and also featured simulated recreations of the characters, but did it all much better. They should have done something like that episode and given it a more omnipotent feel, having gotten all the emotional stuff out of the way in the previous episode.

It was a nice touch to set it on the Enterprise-D but maybe they should have just put it on Enterprise-E, and we wouldn't have had that dodgy trying to make people look older or younger business which seems to end most Star Trek series.

Trip can act though, as demomstrated in the last two episodes, certainly better than anyone since DS9, he pulled off a chilling, genuine sense of fear when they get accosted by the batty aliens, Trek needs someone like Ron Moore at the helm to actually make good of this, it could be thriving right now.

Enterprise had it's problems no doubt...but Andromeda was just plain awful.

The last episode made me sick to my stomach.... They should have left out The Next Generation, it felt like Riker wanted to be in the last episode so he made them add him in some how. It should have revolved more around the Enterprise crew then TNG like it did.

Also I agree they should have let Archer do his speach at the end it would have made a good ending.

To me it seemed they had two many people wanting to do too many different things with Enterprise(to many story lines) I think thats what made if fail more then anything.

It could have been a two hour episode or a two parter easy.

Yeah, it should have been a 2 parter.

Thinking about it more the entire episode lacked emotion or even the shmatzy sentimentality of the other finales. Just that last moment with the 3 Enterprises had that bit of slightly uplifting

poignancy that was needed throughout the show.

These are the voyages:

They should have started with Acher's voice, gone to Kirk and then Picard. I wonder why they reveresed it going backwards..

Perhaps a hint to look towards our own time?

'Course it would've sounded wierd if Capt.Neidlinger also did 'To boldly go!'

Yes, I didn't fancy 4x22 much either. Didn't like the fact they made sure no following episodes could be made (killing Trip).

umm i think u fast forworded the episode too much

if u consider enterprise point of view not TNG it all happens 10 years after they launched NCC-01 roughly 5 years after the previous episode of season 4 ... wich can be expanded/compressed in any ammount of episodes/seasons so if they were to decide to continue the show no1 is dead nothing happend ... what u saw was the the last voyage of the starship NCC-01 (they said the ship will go in a museum or something like that )

Did anyone else notice the fact that Riker talked to Trip in the kitchen after he was already dead?!?!?

I agree that Archer's speech would have made an excellent ending, but the one with everyone was awesome as well. I also noticed that T'Pol's head moved when Riker kissed her. One thing that annoyed the heck out of me was that I couldn't figure out if 4x22 was supposed to be in the middle of the Pegasus ep or was it supposed to be later and the incedent was opened up again. And now that I think about, I do remember that Riker didn't tell Picard about the Pegasus, even though 4x22 indicates that he was going to tell him.

Oh well, 4x21 was the better of the 2 by far and I even think it was one of the best ENT episodes ever, except maybe second to 4x02,"Storm Front, Part 2". That episode also had a really good last shot. In my opinion, it would have been acceptable to have that be the last episode of ENT.

If you actually listen to the conversation, it takes place before they meet up with Shran's ship.

it's nx-01 but that's beside the point ;)

in essence they killed off any character development...

For instance, no more romantic connection anymore between Trip and T'Pol, it seemingly died immediately after the previous episode, then why where they even discussing to have another child?

Killing off Trip was useless, and only there to give the plot some more ''''drama'''', which didn't develop on further, no tears around the speech, even joking crewmembers who were really teary-eyed over some baby they hardly knew, but not when a good friend of theirs dies?

Well it was dramatic alright... dramatically awful.

As someone else said in this thread, this episode was insulting.

but that is just my point of view... ;)
