  1. The Boys season 3 started, The Orville is back, what do you think guys? The Boys has a lot of gore, a bit too much for me, it feels like they just being extreme for being extreme, but generally I like the series. The Orville feels a bit weird, but they are tackling something very serious again, I respect that. The Obi-Wan series started, seems interesting ,we'll see where it goes, I hope they won't do to Ben what they did to Boba Fett (watch the Boba Fett series if you don't know what I'm talking about!)!.

  2. The 'The Orville' is Seth McFerrin's sci-fi series in the spirit of classic Star Trek, like TOS and TNG. Sometimes its comical, sometimes its bold in terms of its themes. The series is already through one season consisting of twelve episodes, successful enough to get a second season, the first episode of which is airing on the 31st of December! (Second season trailer, might contain mild spoilers!) 3. Hi! I saw this place is empty and every forum needs a thread for random conversation! I was on the original NiteSciFi in the old days, circa 2007, probably with the username "flicky1991". I remember I played in a game of Werewolf and we never got around to doing any more after the one I was in. Some of you may vaguely remember the thread I created where I translated Doctor Who episode titles into Latin and had people guess what they were in English. So, what's everyone up to these days?

  4. 2018 has been a fairly turbulent year around the world, but I hope we can all focus on the good things as we look forward to 2019. For me, by far my biggest and proudest moment of 2018 was becoming a dad. 2019 has some exciting prospects and events coming up (And of course there's a lot of new Sci-Fi to look forward to!)

  5. Hi all! Whether you're new to NiteSciFi, or have been with us since it was called "NiteShdw" (I really do miss that name...), it would be great to hear a bit about who you are, what sci-fi you watch, and how you found us! Here's a bit about me to give you some ideas. You definitely don't need to go into any detail. ๐Ÿ™‚ What's with the username, TFMF? a.k.a. The Fantastic Mr Fox I actually think NiteSciFi was the first community I registered on where I needed to come up with a username. Way back in 2003 I searched my room manically trying to find something that might help me think of something I could use. Somehow, I found a copy of Roald Dahl's "The Fantastic Mr Fox", and the abbreviation of that seemed like a good idea. Outside the Internet... Offline, I'm known as Jonathan (Mostly because it's my name. I know, insane.) Other facts about me in real life: I live in Scotland I am getting far too close to hitting 30 years old. I have 3 dogs and a bearded dragon Favourite Sci-Fi? I'd have to say Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Favourite Non-Sci-Fi? Very tricky.... there are a number of really strong shows I love: The Crown Game of Thrones Sherlock How did you find NiteSciFi? Back in 2004 (I think?) I may have engaged in a little illegal torrent downloading . The best place to do that was a small up-and-coming torrent site known as "NiteShdw's Star Trek Torrents". I actually don't remember how I found it - probably google - but I registered and downloaded away to my heart's content. It probably took a good few months before I bothered posting on the forums, but it didn't take long after that to become addicted and rack up a sizable post count. After some time, I eventually became moderator of the Stargate forums (Which was just the best thing ever at the time). Shortly after that, another moderator and I approached the owner of the forums about taking over admin responsibilities. Many years and many more reincarnations of the forum since - and here we are. Feel free to ask me anything, and don't forget to introduce yourself!

  6. I am so happy you got the Forum up and running TFMF Particularly at a time of renewal for Science (&) Fiction As a lifetime user of the Nite [shadow] forum incarnations, I have seen it (and some of its creators and users) fall, delete, fail, revive, fade and be reborn. And as you know, not just once, but many times. Through the Torrent age, copyright infringements, re-birth, Boris P., and all of the thousands of posts over the years, we've maintained a tele-present community of friends. [and I suppose a few foes as well๐Ÿ˜‰] The forums have survived because of fine intelligent users, and sci-fi lovers, such as yourself TFMF. I am so happy we will now be around for perhaps the 20th Anniversary of the forums. That's only a couple of seasons of ST:Picard, Doctor Who, and who knows, maybe a new Stargate series, away ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Thanks for being the first customer in Ten Forward. ๐Ÿ˜› I do miss Werewolf. Once we get a few more users, we'll definitely have a new game. ๐Ÿ™‚ I've spent the last few years working, started a family (I now have a son, 3 dogs, a bearded dragon). I'm sure there's probably other exciting things, but that's the main points. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

  9. Should see the edit option now (Next to the "Quote" button). Was set to only let you edit posts up to 5 minutes after posting by default. ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. I would like to remind everyone that this is a SCI-FI forum. While I welcome people to calmly discuss any issue, there are limits to what is tolerated. If you wish to discuss extremely contentious issues, I don't feel that this is the forum to do it in. Any topics relating to religion will be immediately DELETED without warning or notice for at least the forseeable future.
