  1. I'm keeping an open mind but I dont in all honesty have any expectations. Usually ill watch 2 seasons of something to give a show a good solid chance before I give up on it though.
  2. Pans Labyrinth seems to be the only one that might actually be good, I really dislike most modern films though so hopefully that one will please me.
  3. Tenabrae, I see where your coming from but I disagree with you...but each to their own right ? :) That said, I feel the way you do about stargate but with the new Dr who. I feel is way past its sell by date (i.e. I prefered it when it was time and space and not time and london council estates with london being invaded...again).
  4. I can see what you mean, but I think it sounds different enough too. I guess we'll have to wait and see :) Im glad they've at least worked out an entire 5-year arc for it though like B5.. I really think thats the way sci-fi shows should be done too, personally.
  5. Its a tie between Sapphire & Steel and Babylon 5 for me. I couldnt vote for dr who as some eras old and new I cant stand.
  6. I agree with the comments about Mcgann, if they want to do TV-movie specials each year, do Mcgann ones...
  7. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds31206.html http://www.ice-planet.tv/default.asp "A prophecy of Armageddon and Salvation" Episodic science fiction in the grand scale of Star Wars. A mythic tale of human survival in space told over a five-season arc. Our tale begins on Earth in the present day… a day like any other. A woman, the world’s leading astrophysicist, is about to commit suicide. Before she can carry out her desperate final act, she receives an astonishing message from an alien intelligence. The prophetic message, part telepathic and part energy, warns of an impending disaster and directs her to a mysterious space-borne ice crystal in the jungles of Sumatra. For it is there that a miracle is taking place - the ice crystal is transforming into an enormous spacecraft of mind-boggling technology. Its purpose largely unknown, the ship offers an irresistible lure to those who know of its existence: the promise of interstellar space travel in the early 21st century. Just days before the maiden voyage of the ship now known as "Magellan", the warnings of disaster come to pass. An armada of spacecraft unleashes a devastating attack on the Earth. The Magellan’s heroic crew manage to repel the assault, but not before most of Earth and its population are wiped out. Now they must make an agonizing decision: stay to help the few left alive or abandon the survivors and take the Magellan to a rip in the fabric of space-time – a wormhole - that might allow them to go back in time and prevent the attack on Earth from happening. Choosing to save all humanity, the crew enters the wormhole and crash lands on a frozen planet of stunning beauty and relentless danger – the ICE PLANET. Marooned there, the crew becomes an integral part of the brutally harsh envi-ronment, threatened by the strange inhabitants and slowly learning of their own role in the epic war between two mysterious, highly advanced civilizations. Their mission is as basic as it is imperative; survive, adapt, and learn the secret that will save the Earth and humanity from oblivion. ------- sounds pretty good to me :) and if its a 5 season arc, then we know they have it all worked out.
  8. maybrick, you're not alone. I like the new direction alot too.
  9. FOund it!!! its called CHARLIE JADE : http://www.spacecast.com/charliejade/ What if humans didn't abuse the earth and its resources? How different would the world be? Take a fantastic leap of the imagination and explore the world through three parallel universes - Alphaverse (what our world could end up being), Betaverse (our world today), and Gammaverse (what our world could have been). Charlie Jade is a rogue detective in Alphaverse who, while on the hunt for the killer of a missing woman, gets caught in an explosion from a covert desert operation, propelling him into a stange parallel universe (Betaverse). As he searches for the truth about the explosion, he is drawn into a conflict that not only involves his home universe and the one he now inhabits, but another pristine pacificist universe (Gammaverse) with unsuspected terror at its heart. ----------- Anyone seen it ?
  10. iv looked through all the threads in general and it doesnt seem to be mentioned here. I saw the website for it ages ago and bookmarked it but firefox decided to delete them all...
  11. Lately iv been trying to track down a more newer show iv been hearing about, I dont know its name except it seems to be about traveling between the multiverse and reminds me a little of sliders but sounds darker. Anyone have a clue what im on about ? :D
  12. Even the ones I dont like I wouldnt part with because I think -all- of them have good stories, wheather on audio or TV format.... But my least fave is Tom Baker and Eccleston. I find them largely unwatchable personally.
  13. According to this article the Time War was fought in the Time-Vortex itself, so that would explain why theres no way to go back. http://mboard.scifi.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=1770292&an=0&page=0#1770292
  14. The Time War started apparently with Genesis of the daleks, when the Time lords sent the 4th (urgh) doctor back to destroy them from birth. My guess is the time war was mostly that exacty that. Going back and forth in time trying to wipe each other from existance. Wouldnt that make more sense ? As for the master, Survival made a perfect end for him, I wouldnt want him back personally. Id rather just see good NEW baddies myself.
  15. Iv seen her before in stuff, and I like her alot. She'll be alot better than Rose I think, but I hope she isnt contemporary. If the rumours about the ice warriors turning up in season3's intro episode are true, id like her to be a scientist on a mars base.
  16. Actually, iv enjoyed 5 episodes out of this current series. I'm glad I did actually give it a chance in the end for this very reason (and proves why things like : "if you dont like it, dont watch it" are stupid to tell people.). Idiots lantern,Impossible planet/satan pit and the two season finale episodes have been GREAT, and im totally happy with a few episodes a year I enjoy like that :) iv even become to enjoy Tennant as the doctor, and its good to have a likeable doctor after mcgann/eccleston. I'm happy iv been turned and enjoyed some things from the new series and not listened to the people who told me I should switch off, otherwise I would of missed said episodes I enjoyed. Roll series3 :)
  17. iv heard alot of false rumours in the past as im sure have you so I will just not get my hopes and assume it is a hoax or misinformation of a kind. That away if the surprise of it being returned is real then I will be VERY happy. troughton is my 2nd favourite doctor and evil is a story I have wanted to see more of for years so I hope this is something good and true.
  18. it looks like it might be something from the forge world or inquisitor ranges...
  19. :p I like quite alot of stuff, but I guess negative views tend to be heard more than positive ones, and much stuff I enjoy isnt really discussed here as much either. Lol, its nice that we can agree on something :) I know he's a very hated/disliked doctor, but I really do find that era the most creative and imaginative personally, allthough given it didnt allways work (season 24). Mccoy was an excellent doctor and brought back the mystery to the character that had not been seen since troughton's era. Its really a shame it was cancelled really, the next season was actually going to use the look/feel of fenric as a prototype for the stories, so its like they cancelled it just as it found its ground again.
  20. They STILL make those ?
  21. Well I allways said the new series was pretty much eastenders in time and space. Thanks for the confirmation Russel! LOL
  22. Curse of fenric. All of his last season is awesome, the best season of Dr who I ever saw. I love all of season 25 too bar the happiness patrol. Very imaginative/creative and innovative the whole era was, sometimes it worked sometimes it didnt for whatever reasons, but Mccoy is my favourite doctor and ill stand by him!
  23. oh crap, and I havent seen any of the new SG1 of battlestar galactica episodes past episode 10 of each. : (
