The whole Napster thing was a lie from the beginning, and it's still a lie to this day.

They insist it is "stealing", when in fact, it is sharing......I think the fact that they lied to the courts should get the whole thing thrown out.

:stare: :stare: :stare:

You do realize it is technically "stealing"? Sure you are sharing a file with other users and other users sharing files with you. But those files are usually copies of a copywritten work, maybe an mp3 or avi for example. While you can access such material for free via a tv set or radio beyond that it's basically illegal, since you are infact giving files you yourself didn't pay for to other users whom also won't pay for it (that file not legitmate files in the future).

It's quite sad really. I mean it's ok if I reach over here and turn on my FM radio and listen to Song A by Artist B, but 10 minutes from now if I wish to hear it again it's illegal for me to download/share Song A by Artist B through the Internet. Sure there are advertisements and such on the radio but guess what, after the song is over assuming a commerical comes on theres no force that says I can't just change the station.

I've honestly thought about moving to Canada where file sharing is currently legal. Plus all the other benefits Canadians get, like free health care doesn't hurt either ;p

There are days, I hate being American ;(

Oh man I can't afford money for DS9 on DVD. I had all the eps on video but they went in my shed after Uni and it flooded, so they are destroyed.

I hate the MPAA and I don't even know who they are.

Any news on when, if the torrents will be back up?

7 new MPAA lawsuits: Isohunt, Torrentspy -- and newsgroups

Snip from a press release issued today by the Motion Picture Association of America regarding seven lawsuits filed today against filesharing service providers -- and newsgroups believed to be hubs for fileswapping activity:

Today’s lawsuits mark the first time the MPAA is taking action against sites that enable users of Newsgroups to easily find and download illegal content. Newsgroups are electronic bulletin boards which in recent years have become a major source of pirated content as users are able to attach movie, music and games files to their messages. The following is a list of the sites being sued by the MPAA and its member companies.

Isohunt.com, BTHub.com and TorrentBox.com: These related Torrent sites facilitate downloads of over 140,000 content items, including popular movies and television shows such as Wedding Crashers, Lost and Desperate Housewives.

TorrentSpy.com is the world’s most-visited site for obtaining infringing content using Torrent software. The site offers over 160,000 content items including 27,182 movies, 21,130 TV shows and over 45,000 music items.

NiteShadow.com has over 24,000 registered members and offers over 1,000 science-fiction TV and movie content including Battlestar Galactica, Quantum Leap, Sliders, Stargate, Babylon 5 and multiple Star Trek series.

eDonkey: Ed2k-It.com is a leading eDonkey site, with over 46,000 registered site members. eDonkey sites provide easy one-click access to specific content items on their peer-to-peer network.

Newsgroups: NZB-Zone.com, BinNews.com and DVDRs.net are membership-based websites that enable users of Newsgroups to initiate easy downloads of infringing content. NZB-Zone offers over 3.3 million files, including Star Wars Episode III, Wedding Crashers, Chronicles of Narnia, 40 Year-Old Virgin and King Kong; BinNews.com offers files for over 3,000 movies; and DVDRs.net has over 37,000 members.

You've got to be kidding! Does you ISP do that? Do they filter porn too? Or maybe anything that is against their religion?

Well the press release says the MPAA has "sued" all these sites and P2P sources. Yet the owners of ISOhunt and Torrentspy both have said they neither got any emails, or letters in the mail or summons to court for such a thing. Maybe Nite has? *shrug* Dunno, only time will tell.

I wouldn't worry myself. I'm sure it'll all be fine.

Actually almost all SCIFI torrents are using the tracker of nightshdw

so i myself havent had any luck of finding Star Trek episodes... sucks deeply

Try demonoid. Most eps are there, and DHT kicked in as backup when nite went down.

And Isohunt prolly has an shitload of niteshdw releases to, with backup trackers.

This pisses me off.Fucking completely.Man we have ALL already paid for these shows through basic cable subscriptions. Most of the stuff here or at least what i d/l and seed is NETWORK shows.Shit that airs on t.v. for free to most with a friggin antenna and definitely to all with the most basic cable package.TRY to find {space:above and beyond }on the net for pay.I couldnt but i found it seeded here. Some of these shows, like Firefly,SAAB are ones that the assholes at the MPAA (A-Hole executives) deem to cancel and NEVER release on dvd.

Fuckin assholes what are they trying to do?Absolutely alienate their market? This makes me want to never go to a movie or pay for a rental ever again just on principle.Places like hotline and kazaa i can see (which are now nothing more than virus farms)so maybe software, seas of movies but THIS PLACE?

You have got to be fucking kidding me.

So any MPAA fucker lurking,i dont speak for nite,i dont even know him but hear it loud,YOU SUCK ASS and have reached way beyond reason in hassling this site.Go away and take your kissass Ferrari with you, fuckin luggage farmer.

Nite, laffin im sure you dont want my endorsement or backing but do not let these scumbags roll over your site...you are doing a service for some who have already paid for these shows and just want to find some of the more obscure ones that the Massive Pussies And Assholes dont have the balls to keep on the air.Fight!

And if this is just network outage, ignore everything i said.
