IVHoltzman Posted March 21, 2006 Share Posted March 21, 2006 Startrek.com's message board area has been saying that it's "currently unavailable due to scheduled maintenance" for about the last 11 hours. That's a heck of a long downtime for any well-planned maintenance event. It's been my experience that, when a website says it's down for "scheduled maintenance" for more than 3 hours, that something both unscheduled and unpleasant occurred, usually accompanied by smoke rising from circuit boards. I'd give good money to hear what's going on in the engine room of Startrek.com... - Help, Jane, stop this crazy thing! - Captain, the engines can't take much more of this! - Bummer! - I.T. is a good way to die. - D'oh! - Where's the override? The override!!! - I dropped the baby, Mrs. Williams. I don't know why. - No, I don't want to hear any more excuses. If you're not here fixing the problem in the next ten minutes, I'm going to come down there and insert a large garden gnome in you. Good day.
