wahaha
RIAA: Drop Out of School to Pay Us An MIT college student details their experience with an RIAA hotline rep, after being sued for sharing music on-line via broadband. When the student expresses an inability to pay the $3,750 settlement, the RIAA rep states, "the RIAA has been known to suggest that students drop out of college or go to community college in order to be able to afford settlements." The RIAA also apparently has a six-month payment plan, should this not be a palpable option.
Megalith
Oh what great caring compasionate people the RIAA are, hope they all die of a very rare fatal form of cancer
Tablet
wouldn't it be more logical for the student to finish college first and when hes earning X amount of $$ then demand it, what they're doing is just plain mean
Tenebrae
It would seem to be a fair assessment to say that common sense and reason are not concepts that the RIAA and MPAA are all that familiar with.
wahaha
It doesn't state when the payment plan must be started. Most likely though it is immediately. But unfortunately, most people who goto community colleges or even universities, decide to get degrees in horse sh!t pie baking instead of picking courses where they might actually be able to get a FREAKING JOB. Lit. and art degrees aren't going to cut it people!!!! Even a tech degree from MIT won't stop Mr. SPOCK from spitting on you, and it won't make you a rich man in this day and age. Steveo
No, degrees aren't a guarenteed money winner, but they do help a lot.
StitchInTime
It would seem to be a fair assessment to say that common sense and reason are not concepts that the RIAA and MPAA are all that familiar with. Hence, supporting my speculation, elsewhere, that they may not have any minds. ;)
