  1. There are fan varation (which are pretty damn good) on the web somewhere. Maybe a lawful use of BT
  2. I can't wait for this!!!!! I've wanted the incidental music since the the very start of the eposode 'Rose'. I love that piece right at the beginning when the alarm clock goes off and she gets up and goes to work. On the whomix site there was link for fan made variations of the incidental music, but it seems to have went down. Wonder if the BBC nobbled them!?
  3. Hmmm - is it time to close the TARDIS door on this one?
  4. I saw this under 'people' section of the news page: The Arts Diary of the New Statesman says, "Shocking news reaches me from BBC Wales. Can it be true that the great Russell T Davies may soon make his departure from 'Doctor Who'? The dynamic writer, whose previous credits include 'Queer as Folk', has been widely credited for the sci-fi show's remarkable resurrection. But I understand that he could be preparing to hand over the baton (or should that be the Sonic Screwdriver?) to someone else." Should we be worried? some of us here will be celebrating no doubt - but RTD is the one who brought our show back. Who would replace him?
  5. I hope they do return - ever since reading 'The Dying Days' and 'Accendance/Decendence' RT comic arc I've wanted to see update versions of the Inhabitants of Mars. As I said in another thread thou, what I'd really like to see is the return of a Moriarty/Arch Enemy for the Doctor be it Davros or The Master. oh and return for the Time Lords - may be as not neccasarily bad guys, but opponents of the Doctor. I'd certainly like to know more about the battle of Arcadia.
  6. I'm surprised no one has voted for Doomsday! Even though for me Doomsday was the best epsiode for me, my favourite has to be 'The Girl In the Fireplace' - there was just something hauntingly beautiful about it and the clockwork robots were absolutely exquisite - the best designed of the new series 'monsters'.
  7. I just wish we got to flying cybermats!!!!!!
  8. I don't think we'll see Davros again to be honest. I personally see the Time War as a device for RTD to to finish the 'continuity' of the old Doctor Who with invalidating it or this new version. He's brought back just enough elements to keep the old fans happy. Hence the no Time Lords either. If we do see charaters like Davros (let's face it in this new version he's redundant - We've had the Emperor, God of all Daleks in his place), it'll will be when RTD and the writers begin to run out of ideas. Who aprt from the fans remembers Davros, or more importantly, his place in Dalek evolution. I find it funny in some ways, in the old days of Doctor Who, fans complained about every Dalek story featuring their creator, now the series has returned and there have been 4 stories involving the Daleks without Davros, we all desperate to see him return. Personally I would like to see Davros again, but at the moment the Daleks don't need him, Just look at at how in control, menacing, and for want of a better word - flippant ('This is not war, it's pest control') they are without him. As long as there is a Black Dalek the same calibre as the one we've seen, Davros is not needed. Or perhaps he is. There is one element missing from the new Doctor Who: Moriarty, the arch nemesis. So far we've seen monsters come and go and the Doctor has trounced the lot. He needs his Archenemy - Someone he can't beat by wearing 3D glasses and pulling a couple of levers. But then who? The Master or Davros - either could have reasonably survived the Time War. But I have the feeling we'll see neither of these 2 again and RTD will probably create a super-slitheen or something!!!!!
  9. Well, 13 weeks ago I finished the longest series of polls on this forum! Time to update it and see if any of the new series can knock Genesis off the top spot...
  10. Lol. THAT was definitely the best episode of the new Doctor Who! I loved everything from Pete and Jackie's reunion (okay so I'm a sucker for smaltz) to Rose's exit to the battle scenes - just everything!!!!!! The Black Dalek very nearly stole the show for me with such classic lines as 'This is not war, it's pest control!' My only little niggle with the entire two-parter is sheer uselesness of the Cybermen standing outside the Taj Mahal. I know they were there to show the entire Earth was affected, but all the did was stand there and then get sucked back into the void! Doomsday: 9.95 The Girl In The fireplace: 9 and bit The Army OF Ghosts: 9 The Age Of Steel: 9 The Xmas Invasion: 9 Tooth And Claw: 8 School Reunion: 8 Children In Need Special: 7.5 Rise Of The Cybermen:7 The Satan Pit: 7 The Impossible Planet:6.5 New Earth: 6.5 The Idiots Lantern: 6 Fear Her: 5 Love And Monsters: 3
  11. OMG - Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. It's nice to see you keeping up the good work Stitchintime. Sorry I've kept up with things lately - lots going on.
  13. I haven't said much recently because to be completely honest I've been very disappointed with the show. At one point I was thinking come back 'Delta And The Bannerman' All is forgiven. This episode hooked right from the start - from Rose's words at the beginning to the emergence of the Black Dalek at the end it was fantastic!!!!! Does anyone else see a possible way from the Time Lords to return? Or even multiple Doctors? The Girl In The fireplace: 9 and bit The Army OF Ghosts: 9 The Age Of Steel: 9 The Xmas Invasion: 9 Tooth And Claw: 8 School Reunion: 8 Children In Need Special: 7.5 Rise Of The Cybermen:7 The Satan Pit: 7 The Impossible Planet:6.5 New Earth: 6.5 The Idiots Lantern: 6 Fear Her: 5 Love And Monsters: 3
  14. Ummmm, like in The Visitation: "I feel like I've just lost an old friend..."
  15. The Sonic Screwdriver has a long glorious history of being able to do anything needed. It's covered more plotholes than a room full of robotic dogs:)
  16. Individual,niave, caring,loyal and broke
  17. Att the end when the camera pans down to cybercontroler hanging on the ladder (From Pete's POV) that looked cgi to me
  18. I think the Timelords will return at some point, if nothing else we'll definetely see the return of The Master, RTD has brought back all the main bad guys it would be folly not to bring him back and technically he could have 'survived' the Time War as he is trapped in the TARDIS circuits.
  19. lol:) What did you think of the episode FW?
  20. He looked quite impressive... when he wasn't sat in the oversized arm chair. Was a bit disappointed not see any Cybermats though - now technology is upto scratch it would nice to see them flying (like in the Radio Times comic strip and was it the 'more than thirty years in the TARDIS' documentry
  21. We're towards the half way mark of the second series, so we've all had a chance to judge, so does david Tennant measure up to Christopher Eccelston?
  22. Shouldn't this be called the 'Age Of Steel' Discussion thread? Wow. Much better than the first part. Much more tense. The last 15 minutes were fantastic! I disagree with you on schmaltz, afterall it's emotions that make us different from the Cybermen:) Rose neded to go home at the end of the episode it was the right thing for her character to do. She'd just lost Mickey (alternate) Jackie was dead - her (alternate) dad couldn't face the truth. Grief stricken as Rose was, where would you turn? I think was very natural. I'm glad Mickey decided to stay. I took out some of the unneccesary comic relief. Was it me, or was there fleeting reference to the Five Doctors? We'll attack this from three angles: Above, beyond (not sure of the right words here?) and below. And did everyone noitce the comet at the end - Could this be Cybermen escaping into our universe via the crack in time? BTW: They're not scheduled to go to an Alien planet until 'The Satan Pit' I think so get used to the Earth Episodes. 9/10 for me. Ratings so far: The Girl In The fireplace: 9 and bit The Age Of Steel: 9 The Xmas Invasion: 9 Tooth And Claw: 8 School Reunion: 8 Children In Need Special: 7.5 Rise Of The Cybermen:7 New Earth: 6.5
  23. BTW: I notice Rose mentioned 'Beautiful' like the Doctor in previous weeks. Iwonder if this is either the new Bad Wolf or just this seasons Fantastic
  24. As with most 2 parters I found this first part a bit slow and bit disappointing, but as it it progressed it got better and finally ended on a fantastic cliffhanger. I'm genuinely interested to see how the Doctor gets out of this one! The overall look at the show was great, the Zepplins giving a wonderful ambience to the episode. It was just a bit of a shame that there was no time to explore the history of the parallel Earth and how Britain had become a republic. The Cybermen looked Fantastic, looking much better in motion than that first photo showed, but there were times when their movement looked poor and wobbly. I liked Rickey much better better than Mickey. I can't help but be tempted to think that Mickey could get killed off and replaced by his parallel self. Lumic was a bit OTT for me and reminded me of that wonderful performance by Eric Roberts as the Master and although a wonderful song 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' was woefully out of place. Still it wasn't bad, it was enjoyable and entertaining but it was nowhere near great. 7/10 for me. So far my rankings are as follows: The Girl In The fireplace: 9 and bit The Xmas Invasion: 9 Tooth And Claw: 8 School Reunion: 8 Children In Need Special: 7.5 Rise Of The Cybermen:7 New Earth: 6.5
