  1. Actually hardcore fans are ones who, like you, want to dismiss the TV Movie. They squabble over every aspect of Dr Who, just check out the forums on Outpost Gallifrey. I agree that the audio are not as popular as the TV show - I never said they were. What I said was that Paul McGann's Doctor is more popular than you think. Every review in a newspaper or magazine that slated the movie praised Paul McGann's performance as the Doctor. As for the story again, I agree it wasn't that good, but no worse than the recent 2 pwrter with the Slitheeens and definitely better than 'The Happiness Patrol' or 'Delta And The Bannermen' (I could go on here). I respect your opinion about the movie but I do disagree with it. Have you listened to the audios? You might find they pass the time rather well and you might just re-evaluate your opinion of the 8th Doctor. I recommend 'Sword Of Orion' and 'Chimes of Midnight' especially. Go on give it a try. I dare you. In fact I double dare you.
  2. Young Parsons, as Chronitis calls the student in Shada.
  3. The last Dvd I bought was seasons 3,6 and 7 of the x files (£16.99 a season I wasn't going to complain), Aeon Flux - the complete MTV cartoon series, Michael Palin's Pole To Pole and Titanic
  4. LMAO!!! You didn't insult me meateater - not at all!!! It was very cute. I just found it extremely funny. I went out of my way to let everyoen know who I was without putting a huge sign on my head, If you find my sig insulting in anyway, I'll change it just let me know. I just thought it was one of those priceless moments to be treasured!!!!!
  5. Pella comes from the greek name pela, which means 'of the sea'. I liked it's sound but it looked odd with one L so Idecided to add another one, making it sound more like Bella. I chose the name because like most TG girls I wanted the femmine version of male name, but in my case this would have been Petra. Unfortunately this reminded me too much of a Dog on 'Blue Peter', so I went with something similar. Unlike Indiana Jones, I did not want to named after a dog!!!!! I count myself lucky, if I had been born a genetic girl my dad would have called me 'Shirley' (he had a crush on Shirley Bassy -Singer of Goldfinger, apparently) I think I came out of the womb as a boy just to avoid the humiliation of it ;)
  6. If this is true, then how come it failed to resurrect the series? All ratings mean is that a lot of people tuned in because they were eager for more Doctor Who. They have no bearing on whether or not people thought it was any good once the movie was over. It failed to be made into a Tv series because the ratings were not as good in America and at the the time the BBC were trying to get the American Networks to fund the Project. Unfortunately Fox decided to air it in 'Sweeps Week' opposite the most popular show in America at the time: Roseanne (Apparently it was an episode where Dan had a heart attack). Since Phillip Segal got it made as a 'Backdoor Pilot' there was no chance against those odds that it would make a series. Based on how dreadful that pilot movie was, it was pretty much a sure bet that ratings would have plummeted had there been a second episode. As far as the Audios go, they may indeed be successful, but there's absolutely no way they would ever come close to reaching as broad of an audience as the TV show does. The mainstream audience of the Doctor Who fanbase more than likely don't acknowledge the Audios at all. You'd be surprised how many fans do listen to the Audios and Paul McGann is the most popular Doctor - he's won the DWM polls twice in a row I believe.
  7. c4, how do you make an animated avatar? (Not that I'm jealous in anyway or form - nah, not me;))
  8. How many doctor who fans does it take to change a light bulb? None, cos we sit around for 15 years until it comes back on;)

  10. Strange that, I thought you'd go for The Happiness patrol -lol
  11. With only 3 people voting so far, I wondering if it's worth continuing with this poll.
  12. Possibly the most controversial era of Classic Doctor Who, offering the some of the best and the worst stories in the show's history. I wonder how Fen will vote:) A Question for the voters: Next week we move onto either Paul McGann (Audios included) or Christopher Eccelston -Which way do you want to go?
  13. Revelation Of The Daleks is now added to the final Poll.
  14. Well we have another tie breaker situation here. I'm going to have go with 'Revelation' because I like the adult themes of the story and was particularly impressed with the aging assassin played by William Gaunt. The only downside for me was Alexi Sayle as the DJ - part that was completely unneccesary to the story.
  15. They could do by taking scenes from other stories and cutting and pasting the appropriate dialogue - a Dr Who version of 'Dead men don't wear plaid' if you will.
  16. Face mask, latex gloves, a heavy duty sringe. Oh, oops, i thought we were talking about something else!!!! My bad ;)
  17. Wow, looking at the number of people voted you can see why the series was put on hiatus suring Colin's era! This has to be lowest count yet, shuddersCan't wait for tomorrow when we do Sylvester McCoy's stories!!!!
  18. In that case, secret weapon time - Nimrod - Project: Twilight. A different character completely from the one in 'Ghostlight' N,N,N is anyone getting tired of N!?
  19. I think the 'Children In Need' Story was the ideal moment to show Paul McGann regenerate into Christopher Eccleston. It could have been done in flash back as David Tennant explained to Rose about regeneration. Bit of a waste-sigh. It would have something special for the fans. As much as I would love to see it, I don't think we'll ever see another episode with the 8th Doctor -ever. Please prove me wrong! Thank the Goddess for the Big Finish and their audio plays (well, except for Scaredy Cat anyway).
  20. Mainly more paperwork!!!!! But electricity really.
  21. Call those bridges? This is a real bridge: Didn't realise you were so close Maverick - but us Smogies definetely have better bridges - Even the Geordies know it: those lad from Auf Widersien Pet tried to nick it and sell it to the Americans!!!!
  22. There is nothing going on. The only thing I've seen from the MPAA is the same press release that everyone else has seen, nothing more. Sounds like you're doing the right thing Nite, imho, shutdown before anyone gets hurt - especially you. You should be proud of what you've achieved here Nite, especially the community you've built. But proud or not it's not worth getting dragged through the courts for.
  23. What did everyone think about doggett and Reyes?
