  1. This was definitely the best DT story so far!!!! I loved the mind reading scene - again we get just a little glimpse inside of the Doctor's head and in such a wonderful way too! Like FW, I liked the King's performance - very understated but the star of the Show was Sophia Myles as Madam Pompadeur. There were so many good scenes: The precredits, the mind reading scene, the 'Stop following me' scene, the kiss, the goodbye scene, the letter, the revealing of the mystery and I could go on and on. Oh and the clockwork robots were great too. Overall, not quite Empty Child (that had sheer spookiness on it's side) but certainly on par - if not slightly better than Dalek 9 and a bit/10 for me. So far my rankings are as follows: The Girl In The fireplace: 9 and bit The Xmas Invasion: 9 Tooth And Claw: 8 School Reunion: 8 Children In Need Special: 7.5 New Earth: 6.5
  2. Well I finally listened to all of it and have to slightly disagree with Stitchintime, Part one was a slog - too much exposition, but the rest of the play was fine. Ambience was good as were the performances and the basic story - the only real trouble with this play is pacing. I keep thinking to myself get on with it!!!!! One thing I did like, however, was the ambigiopus nature of the King's son - until towards the end did we find out which side he was on and what he was really upto. 6.5/10 for me.
  3. Hey all. Checkout this fortnight's epsiode of the THE SIGNAL podcast. I sent them a mail with my idea and they read it out (Also there's a nice little mention of Nitshdw forum from yours truly). Let me know what you think. http://signal.serenityfirefly.com Can't stop the signal.....
  4. 'Nother 3 classic moments: 1. Star Wars - Han Solo shooting first. 2. Serenity - 'Did the primary buffers just fall off my ship' scene 3. X files - Mulder: They're here aren't they? Deep throat: They've been here a very long time...
  5. A lot of tv show have hit and miss episodes to. I think it's a great way of doing firefly and realistic. I'm starting my own mini campaign - You never know, it just might work - to see if I get get anywhere with the idea. Anyone wana help - make suggestions?
  6. New Adventures, pulished by virgin?
  7. It's the ears - they look terrible!!!! the rest of the design is nice - very 20s art deco ish.
  8. Just found this on outpost Gallifrey: In the words of the second Doctor: "I don't like it."
  9. I can give you complete peace of mind with the Brigidier. He's alive and well, occasionally UNIT calls out out retirement to help them out, but other than that he's still with Doris I believe. OMG - Toyah Wilcox!!!!! now there a name from the past... (Still not quite as old you RS ;))
  10. Imagine that it was the 5th Doctor who fought the Yeti in the london underground with his faithful companion Rose Tyler. Or the 5 Doctors was made up of Paul McGann, Colin Baker, Tom Baker and Christopher Eccelston? I thought it would be fun to muck around with the stories and imagine how they would have turned out if another Doctor did them. Would the prgmatic 6th Doctor destroyed the Dalek incubator room in Genesis? How would David Tennant fare against the War chief?
  11. Much better than last week's episode - less comedy and more drama. Loved the special effects. The werewolf transformation beat a lot of horror films. I think this ep will have terrified kids across the land!!!!! The guest cast were outstanding. Especially the roles of Queen Victoria and Sir Robert. BTW did everyone notice the reference to 2nd Doctor's companion Jamie? My only real issue was the Karate/Kung fu monks. Did we really need to see martial arts in Victorian Scotland - it would have been far creeper if the monks had taken control of the house via subterfuge and stealth - much more fitting, but that's only a nit pick really. This was definitely the best DT story so far 8.5 out of ten for me!!!!
  12. I got the 'Ultimate Matrix' collection from HMV on sale for £19.99!!!! As well as the Alien Quadrology box set for same price. I also done my bit for the browncoats by buying Firefly and Serenity!!!!!
  13. 1. Serenity: At the end where Mal says to the operative "I'm not going to kill you. I'm going to show you exactly what you want - A world without Sin. 2. Doctor Who: Tom Baker in Genesis of the Daleks when he's holding the 2 wires. 3. Star Wars: 'I AM you father' - nuff said.
  14. My 5 hotties revisited for 2006. 1. Sean Baher - Simon Tam (Firefly/Serenity) 2. John Barrowman - Capt Jack (Dr Who/Torchwood) 3. David Tennant - The Doctor (Doctor Who) 4. Jason Carter - Marcus Cole (Babylon 5) 5. Nathan Fillion - Capt Mal Reynolds (Firefly/Serenity) And still a special mention to George Clooney
  15. It's unlikely as Joss Whedon is very put out by the Fox treated the series, so much so that he wants to stay from TV. I think we have more chance of seeing Serenity 2. My idea would be to make the movie sequel(s), but also do what they did when Docotr Who went off the air - A company called Big Finshed created audio plays using the original Dr Who actors. I think this could ebe a new exciting medium for Firefly.

    Dr Who 2006

From what I've read K9 gets destroyed at the end of the episode but the Doctor salvages enough of him to rebuild a shiny new K9, but I don't think he'll return as a full time companion
  17. ... he changes into Joanna Lumley!!!! :)
  18. I think I would like to see something less arcade like than a FPS, afterall the Doctor is really known for gun totting and going around shooting anything that moves. Iwould like to see a third person rpg, a bit like KOTOR where you can either choose your favourite Doctor or develop your own rengade Timelord
  19. Yes Christopher Eccelston was in that film
  20. Agree with Gorunova. Although I don't particularly like Jon Pertwee or Christopher Eccelston, each of the Doctors has brought something fresh to the screen. I can't imagine what Empty Child/The Doctor Dances would be like with any other Dcotor/Companion team.
  21. I think RTD is above medicore, but he definitely isn't the greatest Doctor Who writer to day. I think that crown belongs to Rob Sherman (Dalek and BF audios: Holy Terror, The maltese Penguin, Chimes of Midnight, Jubilee- The story Dalek was based on).
  22. I think your right Potato. I was hoping that something else would win, for the sake of variety, but it just goes to show that 'Genesis' is the ALL time Doctor Who Classic. It's going to take something spectacular to move from our collective consciousness~!!!!
