The is a problem with uploaded files that are processed through PHP. The source of the problem is that I'm running lighttpd as the web server with PHP in Fast-CGI mode, rather than the more standard Apache+PHP. The reason for using lighttpd is that I was redirecting a LOT of /announce and /scrape requests for the tracker. Some torrents were using the announce URL "http://www.niteshdw.com/announce". Apache wasn't able to proxy the requests very quickly, and it was causing the whole system to slow down. Now that the tracker is offline, I don't need to proxy those requests, I can just block/ignore them. Going back to a standard LAMPP install should solve the weird problems.

If you are using the new default skin, you'll notice that there is a new logo at the top. I would like to congraduate TFMF for his amazing work on that forum. I had an idea, and he did an outstanding job bringing it to life.

Perhaps we can modify the color scheme slightly to not use such bright white.

The forum is now using a new default skin. This skin is more polished, and is easier to read. We have not yet replaced the logo, but that is in the works. You'll notice some buttons above the logo. They work as follows: H: Toggles the header (Everything between the logo and the menu) L: Toggles the left side bar 800px | 96% | 90%: Sets the forum width. Currently the menu is too wide for the 800px option to work quite right. You can change your theme back to the old one, or a few others, using the Theme switcher on the left side bar.

As we continue to make upgrades to the website, we would like to come up with a new slogan. The slogan will be included in the a new logo. Please reply to this with every slogan you can think of!

I can't find any files that have been modified. I can't find any users with stats that are abnormally high. Perhaps he's just using the SOFA attack feature to destroy all the fighters and torps before taking the planet? I'm not ruling out exploits, I'm just saying that from what I can see the game files and the game database haven't been tampered with.

The BNT code has known bugs. There may be exploits or other problems. As far as I know, there hasn't been a new version released in quite some time. There is a new 'advanced' tree being developed, but it's far from ready for production use. The code is freely available from blacknovatraders.net.

Weird, battlestargalatica.com doesn't resolve for me either, but going to the IP address works.

How are we on the BBCode issue? The BBCode from posts that were already made isn't being parsed. Is that expected?

Can we move that button to somewhere that makes it more clear what it does? Perhaps something like an "X" at the top of the side bar. Still, I don't want to do too many modifications especially if this theme is going to be replaced/updated in the future.

What's up with ranks, why do people not have the same ranks as they did on the old forum?

I think it's important to remember that the points don't matter at all. Heck, everyone could just think of it as a silly game. If people start to actually take it seriously, then I don't see any reason that it should stay. This whole discussion is sounding a lot like the discussion about "Ranks" back when those first got started.

Very nice. One tiny suggestion, could the Q'ness UP/DOWN buttons be placed next to the Q'ness rating, there seems to be space. It doesn't necessary have to use the current icons, it could just be text links. Just a thought.

If anyone can narrow down exactly what's going wrong, I'll look into the code.

The theme will definately be updated over time. This is a very basic theme that's a place holder until a better,cleaner one can be put into place. You can still change your person theme to any of the 4 that are installed.

c4evap just made a donation that automatically showed up, so I believe that it's working properly now. We're nearly at 50% of this month's operating costs.

What is going on with the ranks? I have the old rank insignia as well as a list of the cut-off breaks for each rank. People should still have the same rank and the same insignia.
