The article doesn't take into account people implanting themselves with computer chips for the internet and such weird stuff like that. I think privacy rights should be respected as gov'ts have a history of using info to hurt the public good.

I hear the UK does that stuff to help fight crime. Apparently it's not that unpopular there if it helps fight crime, according to the news services. I think privacy rights over the internet need to be strengthened so that people can use the web for business and personal stuff. Just my two cents.

I think this technology could be beneficial in many ways for websites. It's true though that the gov't needs to make sure it's not abused.

Have you seen the new directTV commercial with Shatner playing Kirk? He looks pretty good in that commercial. I think he still has a little Kirk left in him. He's done so much over the past few years and seems willing to play Kirk again.

I've noticed many sites run simple Star Trek RPGs within their forum. It's simply another category on the existing forum like 'Star Trek' or 'Gaming' that allows players to contribute to a story when they can in a flexible manner. Each player is given a role onboard a starship and post on the mission threads to advance the story. Since many players will be 'serving' on an active vessel they will follow a chain of command and post as if they are crewmembers on that ship. They may be temporarily replaced by NPCs when offline and even serve with or lead NPCs. Example sites include Obsidian Fleet, bravo fleet, a call to duty, star-fleet and delta fleet. There are numerous others, too many to mention here but they are quite active and have been around for years. Many of these sites operate large 'fleets' and are difficult to master because of an elaborate posting method and ambiguous site design. My recommendation would be to start small, a single category dedicated to RPG threads. I recommend starting with a single ship, sign on a crew, try one or two missions and see how it measures up. Such an undertaking would not stress the current website but would be dependent on active interest and participation to be worth having on the forum.

I have high speed. I have no idea how fast it is though, I didn't check that part when I bought it. My mistake of course but hey, its fast enough for me.

There have been so many different personal computers made over the last 20 or even 30 years, the Apple II, Mac, IBM PC, 386, 486, Pentium 4, Celeron, AMD, etc. Which computer was your favorite of all time? For me, it would be the Pentium 2, had good backwards compatability and was powerful enough for the newer games of its time. I used one for 5 years straight.

They said the same thing about Jedi Academy (JA) but I never had any problems with it until I installed some of the mods for the game, downloadable from jk3files.com. Which game would tax the Quake 3 engine more? JA or EF2?

Our stress levels seem to have been elevated in recent weeks. Has anything happened in that short time to cause this kind of stress? May I suggest we all just play a round of our favorite computer games to blow off some steam? That's what I do when I get stressed, or perhaps even reading a good book.

Myself I only download iTunes stuff from legal outlets. I must admit however that this is still rare for me as I am not a real music fan. As for dvds, i don't watch many of them as my favorite movies are often on tv anyway so i just tape them. uh, is taping things off tv illegal?

OH! Starfleet Command 2and3, can you tell me more about those games here? I've been trying to see what the difference is between BC and SC3 and whether I would like SC3 better than BC. BC is great and all but I find it somewhat limiting in its gameplay. Even with mods you can't explore space or travel in BC. Can you do that in SC3?

When I had a 56k modem for internet we typically got 42k speeds. It's normal and the only way to really get higher speeds is to upgrade to high speed service. Even the lowest speeds offered (ie 124k hs) can make a big difference in your internet experience. Unfortunately it can also get you more web ads.

I've heard only bad things about IE7. I don't recommend it. Usually you have to wait for the second edition before getting the refined product, just like WinXP.
