bbbb Posted May 31, 2008 Share Posted May 31, 2008 Back when the membership was much smaller and things were simpler. It doesn't mean we can't talk about star trek and sci-fi though. We had a lot more captains and commanders back then. and a lot more ensigns as that was the starting rank on the site. New games back then would have included Star Wars Battlefront. Today that game is practically ancient history. Games like Empire At War were still on the drawing board and the closest you could get to a sw rts was Rebellion, an old 1998 game which had really dated graphics but the benefit of being able to build multiple death stars and super star destroyers to defend your most important planets. Back in Jan 2005 we were all waiting with anticipation of star wars episode 3. The same day the DVD for that movie came out we could buy Star Wars Battlefront II, an excellent game with real episode 3 combat. Granted that's a flash 'forward' to late in that year.
