Soulreaper
Greetings everyone, for those who know me more or less well, I've been away for quite a while so it was in nothing less than shock I logged in yesterday to see the latest very bad news. This is a call for help and I want everyone to honestly take a look inside while reading this post. First of all, I'd like to remind EACH & EVERYONE that has ever been around here, of all the service Nite has personally provided over the years. Anyone who has ever logged in here DOES owe Nite a few favours, if only morally. I'm sad to see that a lot have already turned tails and run for it at the first "sign of trouble" - some of them, people I know and respected - but I can also understand the practicality for some by pulling out. So for the courages ones that are still here and that are not afraid of making themselves heard, I beg you to now listen. I've had some talks with people around here and we've all agreed that we must do all that we can in order to support Nite - by whatever means necessary. Nite himself would never ask anyone outright to aid him, thus we'll do it for him. We haven't had the time to fully form any straight plans but what we have in mind is to at least organize a fundraising to help Nite out with lawyers - but if nothing else, if he has to go down, at least we can help him support his family. As some might or might not know, Nite has a Wife and a very young little daughter. If everyone in here has any balls or at least a streak of basic human decency, I ask you to at least ONCE pitch in with $10 via the donate button. I truly believe that if everyone would pull that small little straw (which I KNOW that ANYONE can do) Nite will be able to cover any costs with lawyers and in worst case, at least leave behind some support for his family. If you think $10 is "a lot", don't buy those 2-3 extra beers next time you go out > and send that money instead for Nite's sake - wouldn't YOU agree that he's worht at least that much? -- Do you know other Site/Forum-owners? Contact them and ask them for support. Do you know other internetpeople who actively work for our collective cause either politcally on the net, through papers or otherwise? Contact them. Do you know lawyers and officials that does or can support us? Contact them. -- Post in here ideas to pitch in, help out, suggestions and so on. Also, don't hesitate to contact the site mods/admins with your ideas or suggestions. It's time to pull some rabbits out of the hats, stop sitting on your hands and stand up. Sincerely, Soulreaper
GeneralLee
I wasn't aware that Nite has even been formally sued yet. I'll cross this bridge and decide then what course of action to take when that happens (if he is ever sued).
Mav
The best I can do is pledge my moral support. I am honestly dead broke. I haven't been able to afford playing an MMORPG for many months now, so you know if I can't afford a small $10 a month fee, then pretty much anything else is also out. Maybe we can do something else to raise money, like sponsors for forum contests with the winners getting their prize donated to this fund? Or maybe add in more Google ad's or something... Wish there was something I (or those who literally don't have the money) could do to help :(

Megalith
Count me in guys am in the uk so cant do much to help will be donating to this site all i can, i agree with soulreaper it is time to fightback. Maybe moving the site to another location is a possability perhaps over here! not sure how much space you need to run it please email me! I take it you have my email address will mail it to nite anyway. Anything i can do to help please let me know. It is a shame that this community is being ripped apart because of the mindless actions of the movie making thugs! most of the content available on this site was hardly there business anyway if i wanted a new movie to download i would not come on here to get it as i could if i wanted get it from countless other sites specialising in this kinda thing.. Maybe some torrents could be respawned .. any sci fi not made in america or not made in the last 5 years could be a good starting point. Enough ranting time for fighting!!!!!!! Regards to Mr NiteShdw and his family.

rihadd
I'm willing to donate or do whatever else to help out Nite. I will never pay for another CD or DVD and will only buy artists that don't belong MPAA/RIAA. Since the release of VHS they've been crying about their profits and getting their way in the courts. Next time there is an election go to the polls and vote out all the politicians that want to limit your freedoms. How dare those bastards spy on us! Ok, unless downloading tv episodes qualifies as a terrorist act.....
Soulreaper
I'm glad to see such rapid response already - that is truly reassuring and impressive! My original msg contained some stuff that I believe is important to point out however due to practicality, I had to remove it because we need to honor S0v's request on keeping everything on the floor and while I'm certain everyone already knows of the rules and what we really mean - it'd be advisable to refrain from certain words to keep away from fueling the fire just yet... Please respect S0v's groundrules because they're there for good reason and hey - I'm very proud of you guys and happy to be part of this community! Keep the ideas and aid pouring - can you support our cause by other means such as blogs, articles etc, bring it on! Aid isn't always only about money... =)

Aid isn't always only about money... =) Now THAT is a great point....! Also, will some of you PLEASE stop referring to the MPAA in such a deragatory and hostile manner around here, at least publically? I mean come on, that sure doesn't look good, and will not accomplish a thing, except to perhaps make them even 'madder', or try harder. If you need a refresher, just re-read S0V13T's first post in that "The Facts" thread.
Megalith
As a measure of support for this and any other torrent site that the MPAA has acted against i have decided to post the following message on any message board that i come across, the reason for this is not simply to get the backs up of the MPAA but also to raise awareness of what could happen if the MPAA continue with this campaign I find the prospect of trying before buying an appealing service that many torrent sites provide. To sue these sites for sharing what i presume to be inferior quality produce is surely counter productive to all that the MPAA stands for. I for one will not be buying any DVD that is manufactured by any members of the MPAA again as I do not like to see the freedom of information that the internet provides being infringed by the movie moguls bullying techniques. I will point out that I have only ever downloaded material from the internet that is old enough to be beyond copyright law and unavailable in any other way. Its a shame that I no longer will be able to morally pay for superior quality merchandise but so mote it be. Once again the reasons for my stance are that I believe:- A/ These torrents are inferior to the real thing B/ It is incomprehensible that an organisation representing a country that advocates free speech believes it is right to infringe on freedom on the internet Does the MPAA want to restrict freedom of information? if so then they should change there name from Motion Picture Association of America to MPCAFS or Motion Picture Corporations Against Free Speech which to all intent and purpose is what they appear to be advocating by these completely draconian and anti American measures. I urge anyone who uses the internet to boycott buying Products by any of the MPAA members. I have this feeling of being here before and would conclude this response by quoting a poem written in the last century. First They Came for the Jews First they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for the Communists and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist. Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me. Pastor Martin Niemöller I urge anyone who reads this to do the same not only for Nite's sake but also for your own

lockdude
I have read the suit' date=' it's not fake.[/quote'] That’s all I needed to hear. I’ve hit the paypal and sent a donation. I wish it could be more and am hoping that every little bit helps. The Google ad idea is a good one I think. Stick them across the top and down the side and everywhere they can be. We don’t care how it looks at this point.
nicdex
Google Ads is not a bad idea, but for now they can only pay for the server rent. If you want to make money with google ads, you should move the site to a costless hosting. Now that you dont have torrents anymore you should need less bandwith. Unless you have a one-year contract with your hosting. I will donate 10$ as soon as I get a job. I'll be happy to help NiteShdw, at least trying to defend himself against the MPAA. Keep up the good work and don't give up :)
